Hey everyone!
The trip around Vaikuntha has made me realize we barely know anything about what everyone's homes are like, don't we? It's important to learn more about this world if we're to live here, but it's even more important to get to know each others if we're going to live here together. I think we could learn a lot by sharing neat details about what our homeworlds are like.
I come from a planet called Earth. We have no magic or magitek, no jobs or monsters between cities. Most of these things belong to the realm of fantasy and imagination where I come from. It is what the people of my world excel at, creating stories and imaginary worlds with words and images for people to enjoy. We have technology kinda like what they have in Oktavia, but not as advanced.
But anyway, that's it for my homeworld. If you'd like to share what your world is like, I'd love to hear what you have to say.

We have technology kind of like Oktavia, except we have space travel. Like airships except more advanced. We have a place called the Galaxy Garrison to teach students what they need to excel in spacefaring lives. So we might have different Earths. Or the same Earth at different times?
Also my friends and I travel through space and help distant worlds with their problems. Tends to involve beating up monsters and despots with space lions. It's crazier than it sounds. Also Shiro and I are from the same world (If you read this, Hi Shiro!)
Oh, this is Hunk, by the way. (・ω・)b

If it's the same Earth, it's definitely at different times. Back home, our greatest accomplishment as far as space-faring is concerned is the ISS. We haven't even walked on Mars yet.
How is it traveling through space and helping distant planets? It sounds like you've really been contributing a lot to your world.

It is a beautiful city but it has its problems. Some of which are a surplus of refugees from the nation of Ala Mhigo. Ala Mhigo has been liberated, but not all of the refugees have returned to their homelands, nor do some of them want to. Ul'dah works to benefit Ala Mhigo and our own coinpurse when it can as it stands.
Other than that, the land is rich with people of all nations, traders come and go at our port in Vesper Bay and other locations. With luck, the city will run itself with my absence.

In your absence? Are you an influential figure in the City-State of Ul'Dah?

[ Why, does that ever sound lovely. ]
Ahaha. Not a fan of your homeworld, are you?

I can also add that from talking with a few others that simply coming from the same world may not necessarily be from the same place. From the few people I have met there seems subtle variations in time as well. This difference can be as short as a few months to as long as many years. I believe this may be important to know. The same world at a different time could be two drastically different locations.

I come from Japan too! Well, I've lived a pretty recluse life so I can't say I know much about my own country, but it's nice meeting someone who comes from the same place than I.
And I think you're right. After having spoken with a few people, I think it's not just about different time periods, but different dimensions too. In my homeworld, many scientists believe in what we call the Many World Interpretations. According to their theory, there is an infinite number of universes out there in which all possibles alternate pasts, presents and futures do exist.
Of course, that's just a theory that no one has ever been able to confirm. For the most part, we use it as a plot device in science-fiction works. But if this place is real, then I guess that would confirm their theory to be correct.

Kupo!
This thing is tricky to use with paws
um my world is Crystallis
It's a bit like this one?
I was a helper moogle for one of the summoned Heroes there but the reason they were being summoned wasn't just to save the world but also because it turned out my world was using theirs to keep itself from dying. And then there was the Calamity that came about because of that. But it was also contained by the way things were going
But our Heroes stopped it and put an end to the cycles
And um
Some of them sacrificed themselves to make a new world? I'm still not clear on how it worked
but a lot of the names of places in this world are a lot like Crystallis' Heroes
Do you think it means something? Is this that world?
kupo,
Bonnie

You're a Moogle, aren't you? You probably should ask other Moogles how they use the iMog Slate conveniently. I can't say for sure, but if I were a Moogle and had designed this, I'd have made it convenient for my own kind to use it.
It sounds like both worlds share a lot. I wonder though...
It would be strange if it were this world, wouldn't it? I am not a historian or scientist, but it looks to me like this world has a long history, and the formation of planets and other astral bodies take millions if not billions of years. I don't know, I've seen some pretty weird stuff here, so maybe it's not that out there.

Nanamo did tell me quite a bit about Ul'dah. Your world does truly sound like a fascinating one. The way Ul'dah's been described reminds me a bit of my own world, well, insofar as politics are concerned anyway.

Hope truly is an amazing thing, to enable people to still strive forward when shown the true ugliness of man.

Regardless, I am glad to hear your world is getting better. Usually, positive emotions are amplified as a reaction to negative ones. It is in our nature, I think, to navigate from one extreme to the other and only grow stronger out of it.

This is Connie! Nice to see you again, Monika!
A couple thousand years ago, an alien species called Gems invaded and tried to drain the planet of all its resources. They were defeated by a rebellion, but the planet's still been dealing with the aftershocks of the war ever since. There are a few monsters called Corrupted Gems in the wilderness, and occasionally we deal with a few scouts from Homeworld or some other kind of gemtech-induced wackiness.
no subject
Regardless, yours does sound quite a bit different from mine. While people here love to speculate about alien life, we have never had any objective sign of extraterrestrial existence. It does sound like life on your Earth must be quite difficult.

[ It's written jokingly, but is it a joke? ]Your homeworld and island do sound lovely. Besides the presence of demon, but seeing the monsters between cities here it seems to be a common thing. The people of my world call the entirety of the planets, stars and galaxies existing within our dimension the "universe." Perhaps that could be a word to define the entirety of all your world's realms?
PS: Your handwriting is very beautiful, I wish I had a pen on me so I could have handwritten my reply too.

Our play island had Papou Trees on it, too! They had these star shaped fruits and it's said that if you shared the fruit with someone you cared about your destinies would be intertwined forever.

Isn't an island a bit small of a place to grow in though? I've never gotten to leave the place where I lived, and I know I've always wished I could visit other place.

I'm also from an Earth, with humans, though I have an outsider's view of them. I'm not human, or land-dwelling but I work with them. The name for the part of the ocean I live in is the North Atlantic Ocean, off the shore of the city of New York.
[And S'reee trying to say human-language place names drives home that her voice doesn't sound very human -- a lot of the consonants are half-clicked, and vowels are dropped or held too long]
Human societies are... oh, the words in the Speech are sevarfrith and asdurrafrith for short. Sevarfrith means that wizards don't practice their art openly in those societies, though usually their kin-groups will know. Asdurrafrith means that a species as a whole hasn't met other self-aware species, and may not be prepared for it.
In the Sea's name, it feels weird introducing humans to this, even if you all are here on a world that is astahfrith. I can't shake the feeling that I'm breaking the rules.
[voice]
It sounds like you're coming from the sea, am I correct? What is your kind, if you don't mind me asking? I know of many species that live in the sea, mermaids have been particularly popular in movies of late, but I wouldn't dare make a guess.

[That still feels strange to write. It's not the full truth, but it's close enough.]
It's a little like this world, actually. We have to use magic to fight fiends when we travel, we have shoopufs, and Blitzball is a huge sport for us too! We play to keep ourselves busy and to give us something to look forward to when we're worried.
But if that's true here too, I'm a little worried about what Vaikunthans might be distracting themselves from.
no subject
In my world, people follow sports mostly to keep distracted from their daily lives issues. Money, depression, anxiety. Maybe that's all there is to it? Though it is quite strange both your world and this one share this very sport. Shoopuf as well, you said?
