[VIDEO] Owner of a Lonely Heart?
[This stage is familiar, but the decor is the beginning of a passionate spring, roses of red and white gabbled with bits of pink tucked in here and there. The statues are dressed in crowns of bright flowers, and the little cherubs are extra polished today to really stand out.
The music is, in short, appropriate thanks to the in-house band. Orchestral sweeps are joined by the petite horned woman twirling into the frame wrapped in a vintage white dress decorated in hearts. She then stood at attention, clicking her t-strap heels. She wore a pair of tiny white wings on her back, and gave a prop heart-topped scepter that looked better-suited in the hands of a magical girl a twirl.]
Good evening, citizens and otherworlders of Vaikuntha! Now, I know a certain thorn in our side is coming around the corner, but in this- the month of Love and Adoration- one mustn't forget their very hearts!
Why, these poor little things beat in our chests every day and many go completely neglected. Or worse: They yearn for another, but just don't know how to open up, or even how to begin searching.
Well, today is your day to change all of that! Welcome to the Love 101 Q&A, your place to get those questions answered! I'll be your co-host and female perspective should you need it, but... hmmm. Looks like I need a master of chemistry. Who better than a scientist?
[Suddenly, there's a distant VRRRRROM sound as Papyrus, clad in a stylish black suit with a fire-patterned collar as well as one of the many hats Kanji provided him, zooms in, does a little flip, and lands right beside Madhuri. Oh, and that certainly is an arm draping over her shoulder while he adjusts a pair of heart-shaped shades.]
FEAR NOT, CITIZENS!!! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, HAVE A PHD IN ALL THINGS CHEMISTRY! AS WELL AS PERSONAL EXPERIENCE IN THE WILD AND ALLEGEDLY DAUNTING WORLD OF ROMANCE!
[Which may surprise people! Not everyone knows of his love life, but he doesn't want to boast too much. Nyeh heh... hopefully he's at least doing okay so far!
But it seems so considering Madhuri, caught by surprise by the display, has to put both hands over her face to mask the giggling. How was she to know skeletons could get so smooth?]
Well, there you have it! We're live for the next couple of hours, folks! Let the questions rain down like Cupid's arrows, so that we may fire them back and strike true! Make up a name for yourself if you must, and your answer will be aired for all to see while keeping your privacy intact!
YES!!!! HOLD NOTHING BACK! I, LOVE DOCTOR PAPYRUS, BELIEVE IN YOU!
[ooc: It's simple: Comments are private to Madhuri and Papyrus and you can directly address one or both of them. Their responses, however, are an open broadcast over the network in the name of helping everyone. Take notes!]

How's the boning goin'?

Key word: trying.]
I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT WE'RE NOT AT THAT STAGE IN OUR RELATIONSHIP!!!
BECAUSE IT'S ONLY BEEN A LITTLE OVER A MONTH!
BUT. KISSES! CUDDLES! ALL OF THAT IS ON THE TABLE!

no subject
Really? So how does that work, the kissin'? Does she have to mack on your teeth?
no subject
You get... creative.
no subject
[Maddie is so weird.]
So what's this all about? You're startin' an advice column?
no subject
But, yes. My thought is to take the time help others work out a few little knots in their lives, one less weight on the shoulders before Big Bang comes along and tries to muck up the place.
no subject
[Uuuuugh way to remind him that he doesn't have a girlfriend. No one that he's been introduced to thanks to Madhuri confessed their emotional pangs of love. What if they're just being nice?]
Are you're gonna help us guys get chocolates in two weeks? 'Cause I'm down for that.

[Also! Impressions can be bad! What if he'll be forever alone?]

What I've urged is that you think of the people you've interacted with. Not every interaction is perfect and we can't be friends or lovers with everybody, but have we been our best selves to others? Have we been confident?
If we celebrate every small victory and not despair at every small loss, we become stronger and more confident people. Confidence is not only infectious, but it's incredibly attractive.
If you've been your best, then someone - or a few someones - may just be planning their gift to you right now.

[There's a Mariah Carey song about that. He thinks.]
But I got hella confidence! [He flexes a bicep. He's wearing a long sleeve shirt.] No one can resist this beauty!

RIGHT???

[Frisk is chortling up a storm as they type out that definitely very serious question(?) and hit send. Is this what either of the hosts intended to receive for this show? Probably not, but they really should have expected it from at least one of the flirt-happy kids.]

[Grinning like a devil, she propped a hand on her hip and tucked some of her hair behind a horn. Her voice was silky as she read:]
Hey Papyrus, you foxy skeleton... lemme see that ribcage you got there. Lemme... tickle your funny bone. Lemme "eat" your "spaghetti", by which I mean eat your spaghetti.
[She reached up and ran a finger down her co-host's chest.]
Are you free tonight? Because lemme tell you, we're going to be "watching movies" until the sun comes up... you know what I'm saying?
[She reached up for his tie, and gave it a gentle tug to make up for the height difference. Her gaze was half-lidded.]
I'm going to kiss the top of that glistening skull, tenderly, beneath the moonlight... you magnificent man, you.
[A pause, and she grinned.]
My, my... another admirer, a spicy invitation! Do you accept?
no subject
He gulps as she yanks him closer. Gives him that very sultry look. Oh, the butterflies a-fluttering in his ribcage.]
ER. WELL. WHILE I APPRECIATE THE ADMIRATION, I'M A VERY FAITHFUL SKELETON! MY METAPHORICAL HEART BELONGS TO MADDIE HERE. SHE IS THE... SAUCE TO MY SPAGHETTI! THE MISSING PIECE TO THE PUZZLE THAT IS THAT VERY SAME METAPHORICAL HEART!
BUT FRET NOT! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, AM ALWAYS UP FOR VERY PLATONIC HANGOUTS AMONG FRIENDS!
no subject
Not about courtship or romance or anything of that sort, I've...already sorted all that out to my satisfaction. I'm happily married, in fact, to my best friend from childhood. I love him with all my heart.
And I've been separated from him for almost...Gods, five months now. And it promises to be even longer than that.
Normally I can deal with having to live with that; I keep busy enough and I've made many good friends since I arrived here, many dear ones in fact. It's only occasionally, mostly at night, that the loneliness and heartache becomes...difficult. But it's been manageable so far.
But this month I can already tell is going to be harder. I don't wish to sound, or be like a stick in the mud, I'm actually quite pleased at the idea of a holiday celebrating love in all its forms, but at the same time it's also a reminder of the man I love, and the hole in my life that comes from his absence. And I have important work to do this month, and I can ill afford the distractions.
So, I guess my question is...how do I deal with it? I fear even when this month passes, as my stay here on Vaikuntha becomes more extended, my ability to deal with these episodes might become more difficult to deal with and I honestly don't know how I might shore up my defenses. Any coping strategies the two of you could help me figure out would be greatly appreciated.
...Oh, and congratulations to the both of you! I don't know either of you half as well as I should like, but I can see how happy the two of you are, and it's wonderful. I wish you both the absolute best.
I'm sure our mutual friend agrees as well, Madhuri. Hee.
no subject
[But now, the question. She folded her arms behind her back.]
And here, viewers, we've a rather lonesome heart: Happily wed, yet separated from their other half upon arriving here in Vaikuntha. A month like this can be quite difficult when surrounded by lavish displays of affection when one cannot express it themselves... and the impending threats we face make it no easier.
How does one cope?
[She took a breath, and smiled.]
...When I was on the run, afraid of myself when I was separated from my family, most nights were filled with terrible images playing over and over in my head. My eyes played tricks. I thought I'd turn and see them, but they would vanish like smoke on the wind. I always felt that I never had enough time with them, and that's time I'll never have.
But that didn't stop me from talking to them, in my own way.
[She pulled up the bench from the nearby piano and had a seat, neatly folding her hands before she opened them like a book in her lap.]
I bought a notebook. Blank pages. Whenever something happened, whenever I faced an amazing foe or had a lovely meal, anything that I would have loved to share with them... I'd write a "letter" to them. I'd write about my day and everything I experienced. I filled that notebook in no time flat, and began to fill others. Somewhere back home, I have over a dozen little books filled with years of my life, everything I'd seen, everywhere I'd been. I even put little drawings inside. It's my desire someday to revisit that world, and bury the books where I'd laid my family to rest.
But you...? You get to see him again! Oh, just imagine the stories you'll have for him when you get back! Write each and every one of those experiences, save them, cherish them, and you get to place those memories into his hands so that he gets to live them, too.
Also, goodness... certainly you have many stories to tell about him, and I'm a bard. I love stories! I'd dearly like to hear them sometime.
no subject
Curious minds want to know, how did you two meet? And how did you know you were romantically interested in one another?
no subject
[She swept the scepter in an arc.]
Picture this: I'm running as fast as my legs can carry me, my arms full of a box of important documents that would bring the cult's darkness into the public light. Agents are closing in, hooded robes causing them to appear as spectres, evil shadows reaching to claim my very soul. The rain is coming down like sheets, painting the world in a dismal gray, the pounding of shoes and heels against the pavement scattering water and grime.
Just when I feel my heart give, my breath tear from my lungs, my body screaming for rest when I need each ounce of frantic energy the most... a strong arm from my left pulls me in from a nearby alleyway. Close by is his hover board, alive and humming with alien energy. I climb on, and those arms surround me, hold me tight.
FEAR NOT, says my presently faceless savior. FOR THE WORLD SHALL SOON SEE THE FOLLY OF THESE FANATICAL FOES!
Then, doing a sick flip, we escape to deliver the blackmail. We escape to a tropical island, and we canoodle until the end of days as the cult falls.
[She paused.]
Anyway! We met on missions, I flirted, we agreed to a date which turned into another date. I realized over time that not only did I not want to stop doing it, but I'd grown rather fond of him. Turns out he felt the same, confessed over the holidays, and we've been at it ever since.
no subject
[Oh. That sounds... Nyeheheheh. Give him a moment while he envisions this with the doofiest grin imaginable.
...Right. They're live.
AHEM!]
ANYWAY! WHAT MADDIE SAID IS VERY MUCH TRUE!!! IT VERY MUCH STARTED WITH THE FLIRTING. ACTUAL, GENUINE FLIRTING! AND THEN A VERY LOVELY DATE. A FANTASTIC OPERA! COOKING SIDE BY SIDE. SPENDING THE EVENING TOGETHER...
AND MANY FANTASTIC STORIES SHARED, OF COURSE! I STILL ENVY THE MANY WORLDS YOU'VE SEEN, MADDIE!
[Ah, here comes a wistful sigh. One day he'll get to see more worlds!]
BUT THEN I GUESS I HAD A CRUSH FOR A WHILE AFTER THAT? DEFINITELY A FEW MONTHS BEFORE WE GOT TOGETHER FOR REAL!!! AND I MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE FUSSED OVER EVERY LITTLE DETAIL FOR THE TIME WHEN I WOULD REVEAL MY ULTIMATE FEELINGS FOR HER!!!!
THERE WAS A HOVERBOARD AND AN ACCORDION INVOLVED, BUT EITHER WAY, I'M VERY LUCKY!!! MADDIE IS A WONDERFUL WOMAN. ALL THE X'S AND O'S FOR HER!
[In fact, here's a lil' nuzzle. You get the Pap, you get the sap.]
no subject
That's a wonderful story. It's nice to see that people are able to find comfort in one another.
And whose drink do I have to pour to get a peek at this hoverboard?
no subject
The builder, the brains behind the jet-propelled outfit! Go on, geek out about your ride.
no subject
[Because Elena does love things that go fast and zoom, and the idea of a hoverboard sounded quite epic.]
Mr. Papyrus, I'd like to borrow some of your time to see your overboard and see if its something that could be replicated here.
no subject
So, fun fact:
Madhuri here's into seafood.
The more raw, the better.
In case you ever need any ideas.

'Madhuri here's into seafood. The more raw, the better. In case you ever need any ideas'.
Okay, a fun fact right back: You've been the first and only to make the joke and I'm tremendously glad it's finally been done! I feel a weight off my shoulders, thank you!
But yes, I personally enjoy many things off the straight and narrow, and there's nothing wrong with it. I think all the men I've had interest in throughout my life weren't remotely human... I mean, I'm not exactly human myself.
Ladies and gentlemen, if you've got a bit of a squeeze for human, beastfolk or zora... don't let anybody shame you! Heck, there are movies about this sort of thing.
no subject
[He says this while flashing the shades again. Gotta look extra dorky, the doofus.]
BUT I SECOND MADDIE'S WISDOM!!! LOVE IS ABOUT THE HEART! SO DON'T BE AFRAID TO EMBRACE YOUR LOVE, EVEN IF THAT LOVE TAKES THE FORM OF A RADICALLY DIFFERENT SPECIES! WHY, IN THE UNDERGROUND, MANY MONSTERS FIND A CERTAIN RECTANGULAR ROBOT TO BE THE SEXIEST THING ALIVE.
SO YES. NO SHAME HERE!
no subject
As a fellow fan of the exotic, I can't help but agree. Of course, my perspective's a little different, with Vaikuntha being my home and all. Zora are pretty normal for me.
no subject
EXCEPT UNDYNE. EVEN THOUGH SHE MADE THE ROBOT BODY FOR HIM.
BUT ACTUALLY, YOU ZORA LOOK A LOT LIKE HER! JUST WITH LESS SHOUTING AND BOULDER SUPLEXING.
[Well, Ganeshan is loud, but still!]
no subject
(The zora strokes his chin as that smirk grows.)
I'm guessing she's into those kinds of feats of strength and whatnot...?

I wanna hear how well things have been going for you two. Learning from a professional's example and all~

Things between us are quite well, and I can only imagine the other skeleton I know of would have some interesting words to say, the grumpy old codger!
It's quite interesting to get to know a professional revolved around the magic from his own home world, as well! Such fascinating studies and progress.
I simply had to bring a master of chemistry to this show, in case we needed a more academic perspective!
