Hey, everyone! Akamatsu Kaede here! Or.....Kaede Akamatsu if you're not Japanese, I guess. [She laughs at that.] Anyway, I hope everyone's settling in okay. It's pretty scary for a lot of us, being in a new world and all. Still, that's why us guys all have to stick together and work together. If we do that, then we'll all find some way to get home, so chins up!

Anyway, talking of working together, how many of you guys have the Bard Asterisk? I was talking with Monika-san not long ago at the bard's guild and it seems that a lot of bards are pretty protective of their instruments. And while I kinda get that you don't want to damage your instrument, it's kind of a pain having to put it down to get out your knife and start fighting. Also, is it really worth getting hurt for the sake of protecting your instrument? That said, fixing those things can be pretty expensive so it's kind of a dilemma.

So Monika-san came up with a great idea. How about we start an instrument repair funding group where we pool all our gil together? That way, we protect our instruments but save up on cash while doing so! Hmmm.....what do you think, guys?

ALSO, I'M NOT A BARD, BUT I SUSPECT THAT USING AN INSTRUMENT AS A WEAPON ISN'T THE BEST IDEA. SURE, IT COULD WORK WELL FOR BLUNT FORCE, BUT I CAN UNDERSTAND THE GUILD'S CONCERNS!

W-well, um....I'm Japanese. We usually put our surnames first. Not everyone in my world does it though. People from America and Europe sure don't.

Well yeah, that's why we thought of starting this group! So people don't put themselves in danger but they also don't have to buy new instruments or spend tons of money to fix them.

That makes sense to me. They were nice enough to help me get an electric guitar when i signed up or whatever to be a bard, and considering i haven't held one in years, i'd like to keep it in good shape

i don't really have any money yet but i'm looking for jobs atm

Exactly! I have a miniature piano I can take with me but it would be a huge bummer if I got it ruined.

Well, this sitar isn't like the one I had at home, so it's really not a good choice for damaging it. You probably shouldn't break your instrument.

Well.....I get why you'd think that but be careful. You're more important than your instrument, okay?

I just think if I whack something with it, it'll break. Not as sturdy as my last sitar.

[He grins a little and shrugs.]

Instruments are amazing.

I'd still say you're more important, but I get what you're saying. You're right, instruments are amazing. It's just wonderful how such simple things can bring so much joy to others just by the sounds they make! That's why I love the piano so much.

Not a bard, but I have an idea.
What if you just stuck weapons to your instruments?
Like a violin bow that doubles as an arrow-shooting bow.
Or a trombone with a knife on the slidey part.
They could even be removable so you can get rid of them for normal performances!

well to be honest i'm pretty scared.

although when i think about it, i don't think i'm the only one here. i'm sure there are tons of others scared like me. or those who are used to fighting but are scared to be using different powers and stuff. however, we can all work together and help each other fit into our new roles. and when i think about that, it's not so bad. :)

We really should keep up Hope that we can eventually go home, even though these sorts of things hardly ever work out that way, or, at least we'll have to go through a lot of hardships first.

Perhaps in the end... only one of us will make it far enough to be the fortunate individual to succeed....

I'm sure Akamatsu san has that bright sort of potential.

She shakes her head. She cannot change the past and that won't stop her from trying to help everyone else. That is something she can do.]

Maybe not all of us are going to go home but I'm sure a lot of us can! And even if some of us don't go home, that doesn't mean there isn't some sort of meaningful future for any of us.

And besides, we can all help each other out, even if some of us don't return to our worlds. I think all of us have the potential to do that.

Perhaps. Though, wouldn't it be sad? Ripped away from friends and family, to live alone in a strange world we don't know anything about. Even with others in the same situation, many of them come from different realities, there is no one to truly relate to....

It would take someone with great charisma to unite everyone towards a hopeful outlook.

Of course I don't personally mind one way or the other, it would be nice to have my class here, but everything else is an improvement over home.

Say, that's not a bad idea! I had trouble finding a shamisen here, so I'd hate to damage it.

We could also do collaborative performances every now and then to raise money. That way even someone who can't spare the gil directly can still chip in by helping the group as a whole earn more.

Hey! That's actually a great idea! I've been hoping for an opportunity to play at concerts here, anyway. It would be a lot of fun for the people paying as well so it'll be a win-win situation all round.

My thoughts exactly! I've never performed in a concert, but I'd be happy to give it a go sometime. With everyone coming from all sorts of different worlds, I bet we could put together something the people of Vaikuntha have never heard before.
