Hey, everyone! Akamatsu Kaede here! Or.....Kaede Akamatsu if you're not Japanese, I guess. [She laughs at that.] Anyway, I hope everyone's settling in okay. It's pretty scary for a lot of us, being in a new world and all. Still, that's why us guys all have to stick together and work together. If we do that, then we'll all find some way to get home, so chins up!

Anyway, talking of working together, how many of you guys have the Bard Asterisk? I was talking with Monika-san not long ago at the bard's guild and it seems that a lot of bards are pretty protective of their instruments. And while I kinda get that you don't want to damage your instrument, it's kind of a pain having to put it down to get out your knife and start fighting. Also, is it really worth getting hurt for the sake of protecting your instrument? That said, fixing those things can be pretty expensive so it's kind of a dilemma.

So Monika-san came up with a great idea. How about we start an instrument repair funding group where we pool all our gil together? That way, we protect our instruments but save up on cash while doing so! Hmmm.....what do you think, guys?

Weird? Um....what's weird about that? [Wait a minute....] H-hang on, are you saying that you've always been a skeleton?! [Would that mean he's always been dead? Or is that his race. This is uh....something.]

WELL, YES. EVERYONE FINDS THAT SO STRANGE, BUT SKELETONS ARE A PERFECTLY NORMAL SPECIES OF MONSTER. WHY IS THAT SO DIFFICULT TO GRASP?

[His tone's less harsh and more bewildered. At this point, he should really just roll with it, but that'd be like someone asking a human if they've always had skin!]

Well...uh....[Oh boy...]...where I come from, skeletons are um....[Wait, she is probably being a bit rude here.] Never mind. It's not important.

[IT'S REALLY WEIRD although she feels she should probably just be quiet and keep her mouth shut and not talk about rotting bodies. Even though this is messing with her brain a bit.]

Anyway, I guess it's because our worlds and cultures are a little different. Heheheheheh.

HUMAN CULTURE IN GENERAL IS PRETTY DIFFERENT FROM MONSTER CULTURE, AND THAT'S BEFORE YOU TAKE ALTERNATE WORLDS INTO ACCOUNT!

[He chuckles. Not particularly worried about that vague skeleton comment. A rather upbeat skeleton, this one.]

BUT THAT DOES MAKE ME WONDER ABOUT THE FINER NUANCES OF HUMAN CULTURE WHERE YOU'RE FROM. LITERALLY LIVING UNDER A ROCK... WELL, A MOUNTAIN, MEANS THAT OUR ONLY REAL EXPOSURE TO HUMANS COMES FROM THEIR GARBAGE. INCLUDING THE MOVIES AND GAMES THAT END UP MIXED WITH THEIR GARBAGE.

Monster culture, huh? So you have humans where you come from too but you guys don't talk much.

And uh.....garbage? [Wait did people litter the mountain? Or was there a garbage dump on the mountain? That doesn't sound very pleasant.]

WELL, NO. HUMANS BANISHED US UNDERGROUND, SO IT'S NOT OFTEN WE GET TO SEE HUMANS. FRISK'S THE FIRST ONE WHO'S FALLEN IN DECADES, IN FACT.

AND INDEED! MUCH OF OUR TECHNOLOGY COMES FROM DISCARDED HUMAN WASTE. SURPRISINGLY FUNCTIONAL HUMAN WASTE.
