Hey, everyone! Akamatsu Kaede here! Or.....Kaede Akamatsu if you're not Japanese, I guess. [She laughs at that.] Anyway, I hope everyone's settling in okay. It's pretty scary for a lot of us, being in a new world and all. Still, that's why us guys all have to stick together and work together. If we do that, then we'll all find some way to get home, so chins up!

Anyway, talking of working together, how many of you guys have the Bard Asterisk? I was talking with Monika-san not long ago at the bard's guild and it seems that a lot of bards are pretty protective of their instruments. And while I kinda get that you don't want to damage your instrument, it's kind of a pain having to put it down to get out your knife and start fighting. Also, is it really worth getting hurt for the sake of protecting your instrument? That said, fixing those things can be pretty expensive so it's kind of a dilemma.

So Monika-san came up with a great idea. How about we start an instrument repair funding group where we pool all our gil together? That way, we protect our instruments but save up on cash while doing so! Hmmm.....what do you think, guys?

There might be. But is it wrong that everyone with an inclination tries? Sometimes people don't work out, and someone else has to step up, or they end up the ledar by accident because people naturally follow them and seal out their guidance....

[He pauses a moment and can't help but think of a particular person who was left behind.]

But, most people will stand to the side, so if you do feel that urge to help and get people motivated, it would be worth trying to take that lead.

I have never met a brave heroic leader. Some of the best were scared, unsure, and rather average. Even pathetic! What makes them amazing isn't some kind of heroic bravery, it's simply having enough bravery to step forward. And aren't you doing that?

The person that saved me from something troubling, and everyone I know isn't a hero. He isn't brave either. He's a bit stupid and awkward. He is very unremarkable and is an insecure coward. But, he drew people to him and stepped forward when others wouldn't and couldn't. That's all it takes.
