It’s been a while since we all had that dinner to remember together, hasn't it? I’ve been thinking since then, and I’m sure you all have been as well. You’re a helpful lot like that. Here’s my question for you, then. Do you consider yourself to be a Hero of Light now? Do you feel any more heroic? Or maybe you were a hero back home? I guess I’m curious.

[And then there’s silence for a moment. Unfortunately for someone else, he starts speaking again.]

That reminds me. My roommate—her name is Mòrag. I fear she’s been a little lonely lately, and I hardly ever see her socializing. If you see her, won’t you try to befriend her? You have my gratitude in advance.

['The dinner to remember.' Even Yotsuyu has to admit, he isn't wrong. She's certainly been through much more nerve-wracking affairs with Garlemald, but there's something about the encounter with the Empress that's stuck with her.]

A "Hero of Light?" Hardly. This world may have chosen to take me in, but what I do here, I do of my own free will.

There really isn't anything heroic about being randomly selected, is there? That's what it feels like, anyways.

If they were expecting a hero when they selected me, they were sadly mistaken. Perhaps, if they were hoping for heroes, they should have been more thorough in those they chose. I will not abide being called a "hero" just because I happen to be here.

[Klonoa thinks about this for a little while. Hero of Wind... Phantomilliona... Goddess Claire... Hero of Light... Finally, he responds.]

People have been calling me things like that since I was a kid. I think they do it because they're hoping you'll be someone who helps. But, even if you're not confident in yourself... I think they don't call you that unless you really are able to help them. So, I guess it's just up to you. How much you want to try and fulfill their hopes. It's unreasonable to live up to something just because people tell you, but... it's also good to help people. Just remember, that no matter what people call you, you're you. And you get to decide who that is.

I'm not worried about the title myself. I'm not a hero. I plan on doing as little as possible and only sticking my nose into things that interest me.

[Legault doesn't sound sorry. He's also, you know, done horrible things in his life, but Klonoa is a cute, furry kid.]

But it sounds like you can be relied on. I'll rest easier at night knowing you're hard at work, Klonoa.

Really though. There's nothing really heroic about me. But I'm willing to do what we have to when we find whoever the summoner is.

I never really thought of myself as a hero, exactly...though I guess I'm more heroic now than I was before? Since I didn't really fight or anything back home.

I guess part of me always wanted to be a hero, to surpass my father. I did it...but it wasn't as easy as I thought it'd be as a kid. Everything comes with a price, and it was a big one.

Now I guess I'm sticking with it. I don't really have a home to go back to, so I'll fight to protect the only home I've got now.

[No home to go back to, huh? Legault's the same way. His home—his family is done for. There will be nothing left for him, even if the world's still standing.]

That's a good attitude. It's simple and honest. I think I like you.

I get the feeling there's a lot more to 'being a hero' than someone just deciding to call you one.

( from the sounds of it, this guy may just have some mixed feelings on the subject. )

The title probably doesn't suit all of us, anyway.

Is there? If you saved someone's life and decided not to call yourself a hero, but they insisted on calling you one, what would you say? Would you tell them you're not a hero, even if they believe it with all their heart? Maybe perspective is really all it takes.

[He's not suggesting the idea too seriously. He just wants to hear what this boy's answer is.]

Kupo, I can understand being overwhelmed by the title. A lot of the Heroes back on Crystallis were, and when I wound up here I wasn't able to believe it at all, kupo. But being a Hero, being able to stand and protect a world like this...Back home I wanted to do my best and stand alongside our Heroes and now it's my turn to be the one standing forward.

It probably won't be easy, but I believe we can do it, kupo!
