[Look, it's another blonde on the network. However, it was definitely a teenager, and beside him was perhaps the grumpiest Moogle to be seen. It doesn't take long for it to flutter out of view, glowering all the while. Either the boy wasn't bothered by it or just chose to ignore it as he smiled before slightly frowning.]

Hi...

I want to start by taking a moment to apologize. Normally, I'd make an effort to get to know everyone and I wanted to respond to more people on the network, but when we all arrived from the Dream Width, something pretty important to me didn't make it through. Biggs and Wedge managed to find it recently - thanks again by the way. Still, that doesn't excuse my behavior to some people so... I'm sorry about that.

[He nodded his head once and allowed for a beat of silence in which he rubbed the back of his head before recomposing himself]

Anyway, my name's Adrien and I'm from Paris, France on Earth. Until recently, I was homeschooled and I still have a lot to learn when it comes to socializing outside of a fundraiser or a show. Aside from that, I've been tutored in other subjects like Chinese, piano, and fencing, the last I've applied to my asterisk. If you guys ever need a Swordmaster or Ninja, I'm totally up for lending a hand.

[He smiled wider.]

You never told me you knew Chinese! [ Hunk blurts the words out the moment the video feed starts, and he has to gasp for air for a moment to catch his breath. ]

Adrien, you know French, English, and Chinese? That's awesome! But I'm... [ He pauses, and then chuckles. ] ...kinda surprised you have such stabby asterisks and not, like, Scholar.

Sorry, it never came up. [A lot of things never came up.]

'Shabby'? [One moment because Hunk that's rude...] ... I considered it, but I'd rather be able to help fight up close.

No, not shabby, stabby, like "stick 'em with the pointy end." [ Hunk smiles and rolls his eyes. Ah, miscommunications. ] Fencing is cool, but... have you ever even taken a hit from anything?

[ He bristles at his own words, feeling bad for what he's about to say. ] I mean, you said you didn't really get out much back home, so... Are you gonna be okay out there? [ He sounds worried. And his eyes show that he's very worried. ]

Oh! A-Aha, right... [Whoops!] I have. I've been competing in fencing for years now. That, annnd... I may have accidentally gotten tangled up with some of those supervillains I told you about before.

So don't worry, Hunk. I helped take down a Chocobo Eater, too. No problem!

Whoa whoa whoa, wait! What?!

[ Hunk's eyes go wide and he starts shouting into the video feed. ] How did you take on supervillains?! Did you swordfight them?! [ He exhales, more of a gasp for air, and then his volume begins to return to normal. ]

I mean... it's great that you can handle yourself, but... I'm still gonna worry about you now! [ There's a concern clear in his eyes, almost autonomously pleading for his roommate to be careful. ]

If I could and if escaping wasn’t possible. [More to it but...]

Really, I’ll be okay!

[ His eyes grow wider, because he didn't expect that out of Adrien at all. ] Wait, you sword-fought supervillains? Did you win?

[ Hunk finds himself hyperventilating from how much he's worked himself and his emotions up. Poor guy. ] And wh... what about Ladybug? You didn't get in the superhero's way?

[ While he's thoroughly shocked and upset, Hunk is... very impressed with Adrien. Terrified for the kid's safety, but impressed. ]

Eh I wouldn’t say I won, but I could hold them off without getting hurt.

[He shakes his head.] I always made sure to stay of the way. It was just buying time until her or Chat Noir arrived. The villains always had their particular targets after all besides the heroes.

[ Hunk is even more impressed that this kid could go toe-to-toe with supervillains without getting hurt. Who does that? Awesome people. And apparently Adrien was awesome with a sword. ]

Wait, the supervillains were targeting people? What are they, assassins? [ He gulps down his desire to scream, because assassins with superpowers sure seemed like the worst thing ever. And honestly? Being on Team Voltron started to sound pretty easy by comparison. ]

[He’s only awesome because his father has issues.]

Not really. See, what happens is they’re specifically targeted because they’re feeling negative emotions. It’s what attracts the attention of the main villain. And after transforming them, whoever or whatever upset the person ends up the target,

But... [ Hunk blinks a few times. It's not that he's having trouble understanding... ] What if someone upsets themselves?

[ And he furrows his brow, squinting his eyes at Adrien. ] Like if someone does something they regret and they kinda hate themselves, would they... use their supervillain powers on themselves?

They usually do have a target, but when there's no one specific, they just take it out on everyone. Even if they do have someone who set off those feelings, they always affect everyone around. Like... when my friend Nino was turned into a supervillain, he trapped all the adults in bubbles and sent them up into space. It was only my dad who set him off, but he took his anger out on everyone's parents.

That's... that's rough. [ And kind of insane. Sending parents into space with bubbles? Dangerous. And totally illogical, but superheroes. ] Were... were they okay?

[ He looks pretty worried at this entire idea, now. Hunk's been in space, after all, and he sure does know it can kill people. Adrien's pal Nino doesn't need that on his conscience. ] Did they run out of air? Did the bubbles pop?

Everyone was okay. Ladybug and Chat Noir did their thing and saved the day so all the adults were unharmed. But... if any of the bubbles did pop during their fight, I don't know.

Wait, did you... [ Hunk blinks a few times, connecting some of the dots. ] Did you have to fight your friend when he was a supervillain?

Or did Ladybug and Chat Noir do most of the work? [ He didn't want to say that Adrien fighting his possessed friend to save his father sounded really intense and maybe terrifying. But he was thinking it. ]

Well... I tried reasoning with him. After all, he still tried to throw me a birthday party after being turned. I might've been stuck in a bubble for a bit.

[Not totally lying, but...]

Wait so were you in a bubble at your own birthday party? [ And then Hunk's eyes grow huge. ] Or did you get to go up into space, too?

[ If so, it might mean that Adrien would be the youngest human to go into space. That'd be awesome, and the idea of it give Hunk a bit of a grin. ]

All of us. My classmates he forced to attend his party were also captured by bubbles.

[So... yeah, that had been a thing.]

...oh. [ Hunk's mood deflates like a bounce house with a hole in it. ] So it was a hostage situation. [ An awkward chuckle for you, friend. ] Did you at least get some cool presents? Or did nobody bring any since they got kidnapped?

Eheh, no presents. Though, I got one from my father later.

[ That sure makes it sound like everything turned out okay, which keeps Hunk's spirits lifted. Happy endings are always good. ]

What was the present? [ And he looks perplexed, as if he's trying to guess. ] Was it a book? [ Adrien likes books, right? ]

[He liked books, but it actually wasn't that.]

Actually, it was a handmade scarf. Considering he got me a pen for the last three years, I was surprised he took the time to make it.

A pen? [ And Hunk's demeanor shifts, a little offended. ] Did it at least do something cool, like shoot lasers?

[ He knows it doesn't. The handmade scarf seems nice, but the idea of birthdays and heartfelt presents from family starts to weigh on him. So Hunk sighs, frowning. ]

I just realized I... don't know if I missed my birthday.

No. He doesn’t do cool gifts like that.

[His father was the embodiment of stick in the mud. However, that thought is pushed aside at the idea of Hunk missing his birthday.]

We should have a party in case then.

We could... [ He brings a hand to his chin, thinking on it. ] But I dunno, I wanna be sure. I'd need to figure out how long I spent in space, convert their timekeeping to Earth's, and figure out how long it's been since we left. And I could make some guesses, but...

[ The fact that Adrien even wants to have a party based on speculative timespace, just in case, is heartwarming though. It even gives Hunk a bit of a smile. ] I don't really need a reason to bake a cake, do I? [ The smile grows a little bigger. ]
