[Look, it's another blonde on the network. However, it was definitely a teenager, and beside him was perhaps the grumpiest Moogle to be seen. It doesn't take long for it to flutter out of view, glowering all the while. Either the boy wasn't bothered by it or just chose to ignore it as he smiled before slightly frowning.]

Hi...

I want to start by taking a moment to apologize. Normally, I'd make an effort to get to know everyone and I wanted to respond to more people on the network, but when we all arrived from the Dream Width, something pretty important to me didn't make it through. Biggs and Wedge managed to find it recently - thanks again by the way. Still, that doesn't excuse my behavior to some people so... I'm sorry about that.

[He nodded his head once and allowed for a beat of silence in which he rubbed the back of his head before recomposing himself]

Anyway, my name's Adrien and I'm from Paris, France on Earth. Until recently, I was homeschooled and I still have a lot to learn when it comes to socializing outside of a fundraiser or a show. Aside from that, I've been tutored in other subjects like Chinese, piano, and fencing, the last I've applied to my asterisk. If you guys ever need a Swordmaster or Ninja, I'm totally up for lending a hand.

[He smiled wider.]

Hm... Maybe the beginning? Like, robot lions aren't just a normal thing, right? How did you come to pilot one?

[Ah, asking for how the Paladins came to be Paladins. He looks back at the Black Lion thoughtfully.]

It was a little crazy at the start. We were trying to get the Lion on Earth before the aliens coming after it did. We lead them away from Earth with it and decided as a team to listen to the Lion, it led us to the others.

Mine was sealed within a castle. The other four had to be brought together to unseal it.

The Voltron Lions are over ten thousand years old.

['There was a Lion on Earth?' was about to be his first question, but Shiro mentions there's four more. And there's a castle and ten thousand years old? Woah...]

Wow. So, there's five lions? But why only five?

[Though, his inner nerd already thinks about giant robots. Please say the lions become a giant robot, Shiro...]

That's because they're five parts of the same giant robot. Black is the head and chest. Hunk pilots a leg. [Yes, it's giant robots, Adrien.]

[Eeee! Giant robot! They actually become a giant robot!]

... You pilot the head of a giant robot...!

[One second Shiro because that is just one of the singular most awesome things...!]

You and Hunk and three other people pilot a giant robot!

We do. [He grins. They’d felt just as excited when they first formed Voltron. He still feels that thrill when he calls out to form the robotic warrior.]

We can’t show you here. But you can partly see it from looking at the Black Lion.

[If Shiro was not excited anymore that would have to be fixed oh gosh.]

You can? I'll have to come back from the Curti Center then.

I’ll point out what shifts when we form Voltron. ...it’s pretty easy to see once you know what you’re looking for.

[Eeeee! It's making sure that he doesn't make a mess that he still manages to not knock something over.]

Okay! I'll... probably be there in ten? Fifteen minutes?

[True to his word, Shiro is by the Lion. He has hopped up onto its extended paw and sat there with a book in hand. He has hit the library every chance he has gotten. Between studying for his license and training as a dragoon, he’s always got his nose in a book in his free time. He looks up when Adrien comes near.]

Hey. [He slides down and lands with a grunt as the impact punches his feet. He pats the long metal claws fondly.] Hard to believe the Dream Width could cough up something so large, right?

[When Adrien arrived, he just... had to look up. The Black Lion was soooo much bigger in person than on the screen. He's still staring up at it as he walks over to Shiro, his mouth agape slightly.]

Whoa... yeah, how did Biggs and Wedge even transport her?

I was so relieved to see Black I never asked. [Shiro's lips twitch as a smile threatens and he points up to the yellow ears.]

Those move to point up like horns and the mouth converts to serve as the helm for the face of Voltron. Each leg slides into the other lions as they shape themselves into arms and legs.

Fair enough... [There's always asking later.]

[Adrien follows and listens, and he just can't believe it still. He's actually seeing a giant lion robot that merges with other lion robots to become an even bigger robot.] So cool...!

[He draws a line in front of the Lion's face with his pointer finger.] The Lions themselves each have their own special powers but they all have the high powered laser in the mouth. Lesser powered in the tail...

[His finger moves to the tail laying curled around the body. It had taken a bit to settle it as the Lion was lowered into position from an airship.]

And a summonable blade that fits in the Lion's jaws. Each one is unique to the Lion.

The mouth and tail? [Like, the mouth he expected, but not really the tail. Though, he supposes when he looks at the end of the tail, what would be the 'tuft' does look like a laser cannon.]

Huh... [And each of them had a blade. Good kitties...]

... So what's Black's special powers?

I've only done it once but, a friend of mine said it sounded a lot like phasing to him.

[He directs Adrien's attention to the red wings rising up over the body of the lion.]

Those wings changed. They had feathers and we moved through space almost too quickly. I could follow it because of my bond but.

Who knows if it will work here.

Phasing?

[Really? That was possible?]

[Following Shiro's direction, he has to stare in awe again.]

So you can fly even faster through space?

If Black powers up here, you could practically go anywhere in a few minutes with no trouble.

That's why I'm not sure if it will work. If Black can fly at all I'll be relieved. [He touches the Lion's nose with one hand.]

I wish we knew more about the Dream Width. I feel like all our answers might be out there.

[That was the million euro question. Though, would Black even power? Had Biggs and Wedge said?]

Yeah, but we can’t freely explore and they’ve mentioned it’s dangerous to venture alone.

I know. Until we can safely navigate it...whatever is out there we're left to wonder.

[And he does wonder. He pauses and reminding himself Dragoon is equipped, leaps up onto the Black Lion's head. He kneels down and holds out his hand.]

Hop up onto the foot and come up or if you can, leap up here and I'll pull you up. I think we can get inside the Lion while it's powered down.

Right.

[Blinking, he looks up when Shiro jumps. How did he do that? But then noticing his hand, he shakes his head.]

It's okay. I can get up there...

[Swordmaster's no good for vertical ascension, but Ninja is. Switching jobs, Adrien has no trouble scaling up Black's head to join Shiro, smiling.]

He waits, ready to grab him if he slips. Once Adrien is up there with him he turns, trusting him to follow and walks to the emergency access hatch. He can still remember that dusty, plateau ridden planet he and Keith had crash landed on like it was yesterday.

He kneels down and feels out the grooves. He gets it open just like last time and the inside of the cockpit beckons. Shiro lowers himself down into it and turns on his iMog to use as a light.]

Make sure to roll when you drop down. There's nothing to cushion your fall.

[The inside of the cockpit is silent. Just like he thought it would be. But the important part is they got in.]

[Quietly, Adrien follows behind Shiro, but he does look around Black's head. Even for this position, they're pretty high up. He kind of wonders what the others will say upon seeing Black here...]

[Still, his head turns when the hatch opens and he blinks, leaning over as Shiro goes inside.]

Roll? Okay!

[After jumping from a rock wall, he can do that. In fact, once Shiro has moved enough, in he drops, rolls, and stands back up in a moment, fixing his clothes.]

[He sweeps the iMog about and frowns. There's no light at all from the Lion's controls. Shiro steps up to the edge of the chair and peers around it. No welcoming light.]

Black is really powered down all the way...

[He straightens and twists the slate to show the consoles and controls.]

The consoles usually have lit screens and the view clears to show the outside in one window. You can sit in the chair if you want to.

If Black were fully powered there would be a barrier around the Lion to keep all but people they choose out.

[He's a little better about seeing in the dark, but this is still pretty dark. Watching Shiro shine light over what should be the glowing consoles has him frowning too.]

Huh... How do you even power up Black?
