[Tidus is out by the water on the Curti Center island, as he usually is. There's a sunglasses-wearing moogle, Zunne, sunning on the beach behind him. But for anyone who knows Tidus, it might seem more odd that his eyes, usually bright blue, are now red.]

Hey guys, me again. I hope everybody's doing okay after that trip---and if you've run into any chocobo eaters, rest up. They're really tough!

Anyway, I've just been thinking. Does something about this place seem off to anyone else? I don't really know how to explain it, I know it sounds crazy, but I can't help but wonder why we're really here. It's just...I see these little things everywhere that are familiar, but they aren't? And I have to wonder if something big's lurking out there that we should know about?

Maybe I'm just homesick. Or hungry, that could be it.

[Distantly, from the Moogle's direction: 'How astute.' Tidus mumbles and ducks his head.]

All right, he's right. That's enough. If anybody's still up for blitz practice, I'll see you tomorrow!

Right, right. So here's what I'm thinking.

Remember blitzball? It's a little weird that two worlds have the same game and the same rules, isn't it? A couple species being the same is a little less weird, because all the worlds seem to have stuff like that in common, but I still wonder.

But what really got me thinking was O'aka selling the airship parts. He says he's the twenty-fifth, right? Well. I knew an O'aka the twenty-third, 'merchant extraordinaire'!

[He says that last bit in an imitation of his O'aka's accent, puffing up his chest a little.]

This O'aka says his ancestor came here from another world. Maybe he came from mine, and they showed them blitzball, and then...because the cloud had reached my world before, it found me and my friend Rikku?

[He has other guesses, some more terrifying, but that seems like a good place to start.]

Huh. I'm not familiar with any of them, but it does seem kind of fishy. We don't have blitzball in my world, but there are other people who are from my world. Their version of Earth is a lot different from the Earth I come from.

Maybe it works the same way here. Maybe the people you knew in your world are here but ... other dimensions or something! There's a whole lot of crazy wild things happening here that I'm still trying to grasp. I wish I could say some of the things here feel familiar but they don't. Well, aside from the fact that others seem to have mechs, too!

[ She sighs. This is all weird. ]

But you know, I do kind of wonder why we're here... there has to be a reason.

Yeah, it's kind of weird for the cloud to be so inactive for so long and then swallow us all up at once. Like it's reacting to something.

But what's a mech? Is that like a machina?

Guess it's up to us to dig into it a bit more. Looks like you're going to be doing more than just getting into trouble, hot shot!

[ There's a pause. That's a weird way to say machine. ]

A machina? Uhm, I'm not sure! It's my mobile suit. I use it to battle. It can fly and has guns. Baddest mech around. [ And she frowns. ] And apparently lost.

Sounds like a machina all right, probably the toughest there is. How big is it?

The baddest and toughest there ever was. It's not too big, but not exactly small. Hard to describe the size. I'll have to show it to you once I get it back!
