Well, that was an interesting letter to receive in the mail. Anyone else get one of these [He holds up that letter] or test them for prints ye-
[He starts to ask, before letting out a surprised "whoa!" and the muted sound of glass shattering followed by a rush of wind is carried through as the picture slightly distorts. It corrects itself just in time to see pale blue and white lights to his left as a pillow sails right where his head had been. He frowns at someone off-screen.]
Ivory, I said time out. [A moogle huffs in the background, but he sees that smirk. Why does he get the feeling she had been waiting for an excuse to throw small pillows at him for a while?] Anyway,
I can't believe someone went with the newspaper and magazine clipping cliche. It's such an old one.
[And then, privately to Takashi Shirogane.]
Hey, remember what I said on my birthday? You know, about yeeting swords?

[They still sound like one of those superhero shows he had to watch while babysitting certain friends' kids in the past...]

So old that it's almost childish in their incompetence. They should've studied up on how to properly intimidate people.

Yeah. [They really should have.
It almost makes Ardyn's jibes seem menacing in comparison ayyyy] I'm thinking of using mine as kindling. You?no subject
But not until we figure out who's the idiot, or idiots, who made these first.

You said to throw them when you least expect it, kupo~
Ramuh's beard... [He has Regrets] Anyway, still interested?
[Private]
Of course. I'd be glad to learn from you!
[He angles his slate slightly. Sitting on the counter is another letter. He opens it. Same newspaper clipped message.]
And I got one too. Likely all of us did. Which begs to question...who sent them.
[Private]
S'only fair I pay you back, after all. [All that study help for his piloting license, that is. He looks at what Shiro's trying to show him and nods.]
No idea, but I agree with the Marshall. It's like a child did this.
[He looks at the flier attached to his own.] Easiest way to find out would be to check out the museum, and I have a tendency to spring the traps I'm challenged with.

I did, indeed. Quite disturbing, indeed. There seems to be another group claiming the title of Heroes of Light?
video;
Though unlike that girl, I'm not sure it's the same group. It doesn't read like something those claiming to be heroes would do.
[Thieves, maybe.]

A group of moogles? How many? Not...thirteen?
video;
Six, if I remember right. May want to ask someone who faced them to be sure.
...Does it have something to do with the name of the upcoming holiday?

While not very creative, the message tells us one thing about the sender. Perhaps an older person with an old-fashioned sense of how the threats are made [he has some doubts about this...] or- it is a younger person that endorses this method.
[He pushes his glasses up-] Younger generations, including us, prefer using an electronic method of sending messages. How hard could it be to pinpoint a person who has unusual hobby?
[He could be wrong. Extremely WAY off the mark, but, it is something to start off?]
To be fair, we all have unusual hobbies.
[Example: His and Prompto's collection of chocobo merch, Ignis' fascination with the weirdest mugs he can find. He could list a few more but he'd rather not earn the ire of anyone in their house that isn't prank-related at the moment.]
[He takes a sip of coffee and leans back in the chair. It looks like he's going through a list of people in his head that he could attach this hobby to.]
Is there anyone that comes to mind?

[He sends a document link, before adding:]
All mentions of the Calamity are under the Crystallis section of the notes. We don't know the full extent of the ties between that world and this one.

[At least he acknowledges he's received the message ok....]
