Friendly Reminder to Not Be Like Him...

[The feed opens up to reveal Cor in his traveling clothes, sitting near a beach. It's sunrise, and it looks rather lovely....

Except for the fact that Cor himself looks like he's had the snot beaten out of him, bloody bandages and all.]

Just a question - anyone else noticed that all the monsters have grown more aggressive than normal lately? Pretty sure that they're not supposed to be this eager to tear people apart.

If any Natives know if this is a regular occurrence, feel free to let the rest of us know.

[He pauses as he adjusts the bandages around one arm.]

...doesn't feel like it's normal, though...

[The last bit is muttered just as the feed is turned off.]

Right on! I hope they rented one from seeing me! The most amazing chocobo mascot ever!

Why do you think they weren't normal.. what if they're just aggressive fish? Like sharks.. they can be pretty scary. I fought a shark like.. twice.. or three times.. who's counting.

Hate to disappoint you, but we actually have a growing flock of our own back on our current estate. I'm sure someone in my group would be more than happy to tell you all about that.

They're reputed to be aggressive, yeah. But they're normally not the levels of carnivorous goblins in their aggression. Or so I've heard.

Oh man you have your own chocobos?! Oh... man you have your own estate?! What's an estate?

Why would you want to punch aggressive fish? If you wanted to go fishing, why not go for fish you can catch with a rod and lure.. like the good old kind of way? Or ... you can go swimming and catch them like.. with your hands, like me... you know, cause I'm from the islands and we do things the best way.

Because fish is edible, even the dangerous ones. Or at least, they'd become edible in the right hands.

[He just...takes a deep breath, reminding himself that the kid's only 15 or so.]

An 'estate', in this case, is just a fancy-ass term for having a small yet well-off farm. It's normally for rich people who can afford the help, but we actually do all the work ourselves instead.

And yeah, we have our own chocobos. Or rather, the others do. I just happen to help take care of them when I'm home.

How is it that you ended up out there by yourself if you got all these pals, huh?! I'd gone with you!

It might be best to let Regis explain that to you himself. When he's ready to do so.

[ He watches Cor carefully. ]

I already know, he left and then came back.. and I went back through the network and I seen him all young and stuff.. then now he's old.

[Anything he wanted to say regarding that sudden age shift is suddenly forgotten as soon as he hears that phrase. And to be honest, if it wasn't this kid being...well, Sora, Cor would've thought that they were trying to be clever with certain implications. Improper ones at that.

As it is, though, Cor's trying not to look sheepish as he glances away from his iMog's camera.]

I'd rather he didn't feel the need to do...that. At least, not as often as you think.

I never understood why old people are so complicated about their friendships. Like, what are you noble right now? He wouldn't be your friend if he didn't want to do things with you!

I mean, you don't go attacking fish on the daily do you? Then he might need to put a stop to that for the sake of your health.

[Sora, you are the last person to be complaining about complicated friendships. Not like Cor is aware of that ~~yet, maybe?~~, but still...]

No, I do not. This was just a one-time challenge I wanted to take on.

And it's complicated because we've known each other since I was around your age.

That makes it even less complicated. You know all the things he likes, so maybe do something he likes then instead of dragging him down to the water to beat up fish!

Hey, that's pretty young! I started saving worlds when I was 14, so.. that's pretty cool, you know, we have that in common.

Maybe you can take him for a nice chocobo ride on top of the water. They are great swimmers and have strong legs.. not too common to get had over by fish.

I'd rather wait until the wildlife calms down first. Best not to endanger either him or the chocobo.

[He was about to respond when he mentioned the idea of Regis falling asleep on him. And...that's actually kinda cute to imagine, and something that really could happen, especially if they're just sitting next to each other--

Maybe once he stops fussing over me, I might consider your meeting offer.

Uh, so.. he fusses over you? Like, is it.. Cor why are you always getting hurt, Cor why are you sleeping again, Cor are you slacking off, Cor bring me the fishes! I know that feeling!

No, he doesn't say anything like the last few things! That's more like conversation between other people in our little group.

[What the hell, Sora; projecting much? Not that he's fully aware of it (yet)]

And he hasn't said anything like the first one in ages.

Huh? So.. then.. what does he say then? [ Sora frowns, his eyes trail over the screen waiting and expecting. ]

[Cor stops in his track, and then looks away from the camera for a few moments.]

...He doesn't have to say anything, these days. Just a look alone is enough.
