It’s been a while since we all had that dinner to remember together, hasn't it? I’ve been thinking since then, and I’m sure you all have been as well. You’re a helpful lot like that. Here’s my question for you, then. Do you consider yourself to be a Hero of Light now? Do you feel any more heroic? Or maybe you were a hero back home? I guess I’m curious.

[And then there’s silence for a moment. Unfortunately for someone else, he starts speaking again.]

That reminds me. My roommate—her name is Mòrag. I fear she’s been a little lonely lately, and I hardly ever see her socializing. If you see her, won’t you try to befriend her? You have my gratitude in advance.

About myself? Um, well, I'm a mage, and I like snacks, and the color red, and chocobos, and naps, and flying....

Heheh, it's fun to have interests, right? Otherwise I'd be sleeping all day.

That doesn't sound so bad myself. I'm due a long, long rest one of these days.

Let's see...my favorite food is having any at all. This place isn't so bad. I don't have to worry about where to find my next meal. The food here is much better than the rations I'm treated to back home.

A rest is always nice! Especially if you haven't had one in a while.

[A long, long rest couldn't possibly be anything besides a really long nap, right? Yue's slept full days before, he can get behind that.]

Rations? What're those? Do they taste bad? If you ever get really hungry here you could always try finding one of those gourman people. They make really tasty food!

Most rests are, anyways.

Rations are hard bread and dried meat. They aren't really a meal, but sometimes they're all someone has to live on while on the move. Finding good food here is a lot easier, but I suppose hitting up a gourmand isn't a bad idea.

[That sounds sad? He wouldn't want to live on hard bread and dried meat. Only the freshest meat for this harpy!]

I'm glad you get to eat better things here. Did you have rations a lot where you're from?

It's not bad for dipping in stew but I'm afraid it's not much good for anything else. Aside from putting off starvation, that is.

That's right. The group I was with didn't always have a lot of money, not that I ever minded.

[Cheap rations...Yue's never really had to worry about money - pampered back in Utsuwa, so obviously helpless in Ryslig that he'd been taken in pretty much immediately, somehow rich here in this new world - but he can definitely understand not being able to afford the tasty things in life. There's a nod on his end--not that you can see it, this isn't a video call.]

What sort of group were you with? I used to live in a shrine, a long time ago, so I didn't have any money either.

My parents died when I was young, so I found a new family to call my own. We worked to help people...in a way.

[Murder, thievery, taking care of the corrupt rich to benefit the poor.]

Living in a shrine, hm? Does that mean I should be worshiping you?

Ah, me too! Sort of.

[Just sort of. It's not like he ever actively looked for a family or anything...or helped anybody....did he help people? He'd like to think he helped somebody a little bit, at some point.]

Eh? No, I'm not a god or anything, I just lived there! So you don't have to worship me.

There are shrines where I'm from. Usually, dangerous weapons are sealed away there. I've never imagined anyone would live in one.

I don't think I've ever seen a shrine with weapons in it before...do your shrines not have any priests or anything though?

[Who keeps them clean? Who does the fancy ceremony stuff!]

This world is....it's nice, I think. It feels more peaceful than where I was before, and all the people from here are really friendly. [A tiny laugh.] I can't help missing my old home sometimes, but there's nothing I can do about that, right?
