[ The feed begins with a young girl with pink hair who appears to seated in a room of some sort. Doesn’t seem like any room, but yes. After a moment, she smiles once she realizes the video began. ]

Hello everyone.

I hope that for those of you who just arrived you're settling in and adapting to things comfortably enough. I hope the experience thus far has not been too traumatizing in any way. I know it's a lot to take in, but I assure you that for those of us here before, we're just as baffled as you are about ... well, everything.

[ There is a pause as she looks off, contemplative and worried. After a moment, her attention falls back to the camera. ]

What I've come to learn recently is that we all seem to be in this together. As in—ah. As in literally. [ Pause. How to talk about this? ] I haven't had a lot of time to think about it but, uhm. Does anyone else recall experiencing some kind of fight with an army of creatures that looked like ... [ her voice lowers as she looks off. ] people I recognized.

[ Frowning. Concerned. Deeply. Seeing that person in that memory was jarring. Yet within moments, she lifts her head to continue. ]

I haven't found any answers to explain what happened. Not yet. However, I figured I should ask here and see if anyone had any similar experiences? Maybe talk a bit about it to understand? It was the only thing I vividly remember [ —there was another, but. ] and I feel there was a reason behind seeing it. I'm not even sure if it was even real?

[ Brows furrowed and eyes downward, she takes a moment to collect her thoughts before lifting her head again with a smile renewed. Positive time! ]

Ah! Forgive me! I didn't introduce myself. For those of you new, my name is Euphemia! I'm a White Mage and Nurse at the Yun'Ashia hospital. I'm also going to be starting school very soon there, too. It’s been a goal of mine to go back and finish my studies! Being a student and getting to go to classes again—I’m excited! Is there anyone else going to school? Maybe we can be study friends! Perhaps we can be study buddies? I will admit that I sometimes need a little help here and there, so please, let me know if you're interested!

As for the rest of you, if you need me for any reason, just reach. Or visit the hospital! Or call! I can do either of those things. I'm here to help.

[ Her expression turns a bit soft as she stares intensely at the camera. Solemn. A pause. ]

I hope everyone stays well. And ... take care of yourself, okay? Wherever you are.

[ A smile, albeit lacking the same mirth as her earlier one. With that, the video feed ends. ]

Really? Your world sounds interesting. The technology here is familiar with some of what I have back home, if not a little more advanced. Did you have airships at home? Electronic devices?

You mean like this Slate device? Goodness, no. Electricity in my city is barely as old as I am. And it's certainly not as anywhere as close to prevalent as it is here.


I'm only barely understanding how this thing works to begin with. Thank goodness for Kupotina or I'd never have figured it out. She's quite smart.

[The shy moogle tries to brush off his compliments off-camera.]

Oh my. Now you have me a little intrigued as to where you came from and from what point in time! Either way, I can happily show you as much as you need to know so you can get an understanding of how everything works. I'm still learning myself, but I'm familiar with it! At least by two months!

Point in time? That might be relative considering we all come from different planes, yes? But where I come from, it was the year 1901.

[Yep, the culture shock has been pretty significant.]

Honestly, besides technology, the way things work here is so very different from my home even socially! For instance, they have me living with some young, single women. Oh, and the way people dress is-- [SCANDALOUS.] -- ah, very different than what I'm used to seeing, even coming from a diverse city as I do. Not to mention the complete lack of hats. Barely one to be spotted outside! Unbelievable.

Scandalous? [ Confused. She doesn't recall seeing anyone dressed scandalously! ] I'm sorry. It must all be quiet the drastic change. I know I've felt equally out of place when I came here.

As a fellow White Mage, perhaps we can be of assistance to each other! Did you pick out a job yet? I decided to become a nurse to further aid people here. It might also help me better hone my skills! Maybe you can consider the profession, too?

[Scandalous for the guy from 1901, sure. Wait til he gets a load of the swimsuits here.]

I'll be honest with you - I went with White Mage because I didn't like most of the alternatives. Most of them seemed centered around fighting. I'm not really interested in that. I considered Bard for a long while too. I suppose I could try that in the future, as well.

So no, I hadn't considered the profession, but that doesn't mean I couldn't give it a try. It seems like a very selfless thing to do.

To be honest, I felt the same way. I'm not entirely sure I'm comfortable dealing with combat. Even being a Summoner is somewhat unusual for me to pursue. I understand that I need to be able to learn these skills to survive, but ... I wish I didn't have to fight at all.

There's nothing here saying we have to fight. Remember that. So long as you're careful where you're going, you should never have to run into any "monsters" out in the world. Leave that to the others.

[He doesn't like using the word monster - it seems judgmental to him - but it's what other people here use to describe the hostile creatures.]

I like to hope I can rely on that and stay in good health. But it doesn't hurt to know at least a little self-defense. I think.
