Call for...help? [Video, around beginning of May]

[Here's a voice that some feared might have disappeared, among with a few others. Scratch that, it's a face that some might still recognize.]

...If anyone's looking for Ignis Scientia, Gladiolus Amicitia, and Ravus Nox Fleuret? They're all gone now. Back home. I hope.

[Cor pauses for a moment, then looks behind him at the few chocobos wandering around still. He then shifts his iMog to show them off...and the fields on his other side.]

As you can see, this farm's kind of big for just one guy and his Moogle companion. If anyone wants to come body and help out, they're free to do so. We can discuss payments, rooming options, and so forth, if you so wish.

Also...do we still have people who know how to pilot small airships? Got a proposition for you there, too.

[Saying sorry seems like it's not enough, but she's not sure what else to say, so Pidge just... opts to not say anything about the first part of that message.

The view is interesting enough, though, even if she doesn't know the first thing about chocobos.]

Are the birds easily spooked?

[Specifically, she's wondering if parking a giant green mechanical lion would make them freak out. Not that it matters at the moment, since Green is still a paperweight. But...]

What kind of airships? I'm technically still an apprentice, but it's been a while.

[It's never enough, but it may be a start. Cor's been thru the worst of his feelings already, regarding the disappearances....]

Not that I can recall. One of them belonged to young Hope - it's the biggest of the flock.

[A mecha, however, would interest Cor nonetheless. Still, he's looking at Pidge with a gaze that seems to be sizing her up a bit.]

It's technically a car - customizable sports car, about 30 years old - but it's been somehow converted into an airship before it arrived. I can drive it just fine; it's the flying part that I'm having trouble with.

[The name sounded vaguely familiar, so it was probably safe to assume that Hope was a friend-of-a-friend or something. It probably wasn't the most important thing here, at any rate.

And okay, that was probably the last thing she was expecting to hear.]

Like... a literal sports car? That's also an airship?

[Was that even a thing? Pidge had no idea, but it was an intriguing thought.]

[Now, a faintly proud smile crosses across Cor's face, if only briefly.]

Yeah...her name's the Regalia - Regis' old car. She's always had the option to be customized...but not like this.

[She was honestly too preoccupied with the thought of an airship car to notice the smile, but it was probably fine.]

Hmm. I like it. [Not that her opinion mattered all that much, but still.]

Flying it shouldn't be all that different than driving it. Aside from... y'know... making sure not to crash and burn~

I do, too. I just need to figure out how to do it in all 360 directions, since the dashboard kind of changed to accommodate for the tech needed to make it fly. If you're willing to help with that, it would be welcomed.

[A shrug.]

I could probably help with that.

[All three at the same time? Damn. She hardly knew them but she gives the Marshall a worried look all the same.]

I know a thing or two about Chocobo's.

[But are you okay?]

[He looks tired, in that 'I'm so done with my life being so screwy' way. Still, that's the sense she's picking up behind the stoic, brave facade that he's keeping up, mostly.]

You mind lending me a hand for the next little while? Kind of hard to keep things going when you only have one helper.

[His voice has undertones of need, a desire to not be alone much at this point in his life. Well, not more alone than he already feels while being among some overgrown birds and a cosplaying Moogle.]

[Selphie can understand that feeling very well. She's been feeling a little lost herself lately. After giving the offer some thought, the SeeD nods her head.]

Yun Ashia, right?

[She gives Cor a sunny smile without even waiting for confirmation.]

I think I can manage that!

Yeah, just outside the main city.

[He gives directions that aren't very difficult to follow. And then he pauses for a moment.]

...you can bring your own mount, if you have one. Least I can do is make sure that it has a decent stall to stay in.

[Mount?

Oh no...

How could she forget about Chester?]

I'd have to make a pitstop at Sparks Golsaucia to see if he's still there. Pretty sure, he went back into the wild though, but a gal can dream!

[Kenichi was familiar with Ignis and Gladiolus but sadly missed out on learning more about the two. They seemed like decent people and they would be missed.]

That's quite a farm you got there. I'm more than happy to lend you a hand with that. Got some experience with both chocobos and farm work.

[If Cor needed any other proof, Kenichi's own chocobo poked her head into the frame, trying to see what the cavalier was looking at. Kenichi gives her pat but gently nudges her away so the iMog isn't drowning in yellow feathers.]

I'm technically an apprentice airship pilot but I do own a small airship. What did you have in mind?

[Cor badly misses them, even if he knows that they will most likely be alive and waiting for him should he ever return to their homeworld.]

Thank you. It's...been nearly a year since we--

[A rough pause.]

--since I first moved to here. I helped those who were here before build it up to where it is now, but another hand wouldn't hurt.

[He then perks up a little upt at the mention of a small airship.]

It's kind of an unique one, since it also doubles as a car on the ground.

[ Oh... Finn glowers a little before it turns into a softer frown. ]

I had hoped they were just-... Never mind. I'm sorry.

[ And a sigh: ] I, uh- I know a droid who can pilot airships but they have to be modified for him.

[Cor finds himself shaking his head sympathetically.]

It's...It'll be alright. AT least they were all alive when I last remembered being back home. Six be willing, they can try and make things right if they all went back together.

[An eyebrow raises up at the mention of it, albeit warily.]

What kind of 'droid'? I presume it's not like your typical humanoid-shaped ones?

[ Finn looks to the floor and nods, letting the matter of their vanished friends drop. They're better off at home, anyway, right? ]

Oh, no. He's a BB-unit. Sort of looks like a ball with a headpiece attached. He's an astromech, flies co-pilot in a starfighter with our friend back home. No hands, though. He has to plug in.

Damn. 'M sorry te hear that.

I can drop by for a spell te help with the birds. Can't be a forever thing, mind ye - Can't neglect my forge fer too long - but I know a thing're two 'bout Chocobo husbandry and help 'till ye find somethin' more permanent.

I understand. I'd take any help at this point. And like I said, I'd be willing to negotiate any payments or accommodations during your stay.

[There's a brief pause, like he's thinking over something deep and heavy.]

...they were all alive, last I remembered back home. Six be willing, that remains the same when we're all done here.

No need for pay; meals and a soft bed'll be enough.

[ She's quiet for about an equal length of time. ]

Well...that's somethin, aye?

[Reno's face is serious and deeply sympathetic.]

I had a feeling, but... It makes it all real to hear you say it. I'm sorry.

At least I hope they're all together, wherever they went. Ideally, home.

[He knew by now that they had been lovers, the three of them.]

[Cor slowly nods, seemingly grateful for the sympathetic words.]

They were all alive, when I was last back on our star. If the Six are merciful, that will remain the same when I eventually return.

And...so do I, Reno.

[Reno chews his lip thoughtfully and frowns at the screen for a moment, as if internally debating something as he watches Cor.]

With them gone...

[He pauses again, then his face relaxes. Whatever his difficult decision was, he's made it.]

You know, we should talk in person. You said you needed some help at the farm? I can stop by for a few days. I can't stay, and... okay, I'm pretty useless with most of it, but maybe I can help with something while you're waitin' for a tenant.
