For those of you that like to stay in shape, are there any avenues you've found particularly helpful during your time here in Vaikuntha?

I was thinking of trying to get out and running a little more— are there any routes someone could recommend that has more scenery than monsters? I guess... that's a workout in itself too isn't it, heh.

It's just that there's only so many sit-ups you can do in an attic, you know?

Maybe if there were some batting cages...

I do not think that basic fighting techniques are anything secretive. My King is a bit on a lazy side, but he wouldn't mind showing you his tricks.

Of course not. I started my training at fifteen which means we will have to get very intense with you.

[Ignis says with a chuckle. He's teasing, of course, but only halfway. He'll be serious with training, but not push him that hard- Ignis was brought up to his position from a young age.]

( there's a chortle of his own, this guy seems pretty sprightly, a sentiment that he's happy to return... with how he's been on such a low this last month. )

[It has been a while since Ignis went through a full training routine, especially with the cafe open. This will be a wonderful change of pace for him.]

Funny, I think my mentor would say something like that, too. Heh.

Right now I live... ( wait for it— ) under the sea.

Under the sea? Ah, that would be in Myste Aura Kingdom, correct? Is it safe to live there? The underwater pressure must feel weird.

Or, perhaps, there is none?

[He never visited the place. Maybe he should- just to sate his curiosity.]

That's right.
When I found myself in a... sticky situation, he was the one that showed us the ropes, you could say.
He oversaw my training regime a lot of the time, too.

( there's something nostalgic creeping into ren's voice as he shares that— he misses that guy, apparently. )

Mm. Though the city proper is called Ka'pandol.
After awhile, you get used to the water pressure. I hoped it would have a positive impact on training too, being down here.

( resistance training... or maybe something like that. )

[Yes, Ignis can feel the nostalgia pour into Ren's voice, but he doesn't prod - his mentor probably isn't around here and it would be rude to bring up memories. No matter how nice they are, they still hurt.]

Hopefully, I will live up to the expectations then.
Would you mind telling me if there is anything you don't eat? Since you will be training a bigger part of the day, replenishing your strength will be necessary.

[And Ignis is a pretty good cook.]

I don't know. Do you swim? Run on the sand? Humans aren't quite predisposed to live under the water, so I hope it is not getting to your health.

[Headaches, lightheadedness, dizziness. That stuff.]

There's nothing that comes to mind immediately. I've eaten some... questionable portions of curry in my time.

I go to the surface often, though this last month has been a bit... less. My mentor used to really... help meowt when it came to keeping track of daily necessities, so I may have let those things slide more than I should, heh.

( maybe... especially... when it came to a proper bedtime. )

You shouldn't slack or you will have a meowtin of problems. [...yes. That just left a 28-year-old.]

When do you have free time for your training? Doing the entire course twice a week should be a bare minimum. But if you work, we could dedicate one entire day to it. On weekend, perhaps.

That's true, it could be claws for alarm if I don't stay on top of my game.
I do work, mostly at night since it's a club, but— Sundays should be pretty open, if that works for you, Ignis.

I know a few versions of it. I will be happy if you tried them on Sunday.

I run a coffee shop in Yun'Aisha. You can drop by for breakfast and coffee and then we can proceed with the training. How does that sound?

Ah— I didn't realize you were in charge of a business like that. But in that case, as payment... maybe I can work off my debt by helping at your shop. If you need any extra hands, that is.

I wouldn't want to bother you since you mentioned that you already work at a nightclub. It would be really bad for your health if you overwork yourself.

[Though, he's not going to deny that he doesn't need help. Because he does. Gladio, Ravus and his Moogle help, bless their souls, but they aren't really experienced in this type of thing.]

Heh. Trust me, it's no bother. I'm used to working several part-time jobs at once, honestly.

( plus it... helps distract from the crushing loneliness in the wake of losing his allies...

Would it sweeten the deal at all if I added that I have previous experience?

Just- try not to overwork yourself, alright? You're still young.

[Says a man that constantly overworks himself.]

Well, when you put it that way, I really can't say no. Coffee shop works from 7am in the morning to 7pm in the evening. You can come in whenever you have free time, but it would be great to have some back up for the morning rush, which is around 8, 8:30.

Of course, whether you work morning or afternoon shift, meals will be provided for you.

I get the feeling Boss might laugh if I told him something like that, heh.

We can work out the details when we meet, if that sounds good to you. I'd be more than happy to help out when it's needed most, even if that means the early shift. Though it may mean crashing in the attic or basement if there is one, occasionally.

( the way ren says it though... he clearly doesn't seem to mind that possibility too much. )

The attic area has been reconstructed into the lounge area. I used it a lot before but... [there's a bit of pause] not anymore.

[It was his relaxing place. It still has shelves filled with books, notes, big lounge chair, loveseat couch, a tall standing lamp. It is clean and neat, despite the fact that Ignis doesn't go up there anymore.]

I will have my Moogle get futon and covers up there for you. There IS a couch, but I think it's too uncomfortable to sleep on.

I'm not too picky— a few crates under a mattress would be just fine, too.
