Friendly Reminder to Not Be Like Him...
[The feed opens up to reveal Cor in his traveling clothes, sitting near a beach. It's sunrise, and it looks rather lovely....
Except for the fact that Cor himself looks like he's had the snot beaten out of him, bloody bandages and all.]
Just a question - anyone else noticed that all the monsters have grown more aggressive than normal lately? Pretty sure that they're not supposed to be this eager to tear people apart.
If any Natives know if this is a regular occurrence, feel free to let the rest of us know.
[He pauses as he adjusts the bandages around one arm.]
...doesn't feel like it's normal, though...
[The last bit is muttered just as the feed is turned off.]

[Look, he really doesn't like viewing them as monsters and there has to be an explanation for their behavior.]
Are you alright? Well, going to be alright I suppose I should say. What did you cross paths with exactly?
And it was one of the bigger fishes - one that they said could only be made edible by a master chef. Just didn't realize that it had many friends.
...I'll be fine. Been thru worse.
[Just when he'd been getting close enough to really jot down details in his notebook too.
Newt can't help but frown a bit.]
Well most creatures do tend to have a family unit of some sort they live with, unless of course they're something like a dragon. Aren't there smaller fish you could be using for food in this case?
And normally, I'd leave that to the head fisherman of my group...but this isn't the type to be fished up by a normal hook and bait. Thought it'd be worth the challenge.
[Verdict: Not entirely, though he's not sure if it's just the timing or just the species in general.]
[Gosh Cor. That should have been obvious.]
You simply went after it because you thought it would be a challenge...a trophy even?
[Newt's expression melts into the faintest of frowns.]
[Because Cor is ever practical...mostly. Still, he's got a growing frown of his own.]
...you a scientist or a conservatist?
[He can tolerate either form; it's just depends upon how big of a headache he might be getting from their interaction afterwards.]
A little of both, I suppose. Where I'm from I'm known as a Magizoologist. I specialize in magical and extraordinary beasts, learning everything I can about them and doing what I can to help protect them from extinction.
[So hunting for food is fine. Just don't go trophy hunting and let him find out about it.]
Many of the creatures here hold similarities to some of the ones I traveled with back home and I've been attempting to learn more about them to see just how similar they are. These shifts in their temperament have made it difficult though.
[Not that Cor minds someone doing field research on them. But his prior experiences with that kind of creature have not always been...pleasant. Hence, the somewhat dubious look on his face.]
And how did you manage to get close without getting yourself torn up?
[Newt understands fear of such creatures but they are so fascinating how can people not want to know more about them?]
They are just as aware of things as you or I. Approach them with respect and make it clear you mean them no harm and slowly but surely you can gain their trust. They are well aware of your intentions towards them even if you attempt to hide them. I mean creatures no harm, I simply want to study them and help them and most of them pick up on that. There are always those that are temperamental by nature and simply want nothing to do with humans but even those ones will offer a degree of trust to those that pay them the respect they deserve.
That actually works? On all of them?
Until recently?
