Friendly Reminder to Not Be Like Him...
[The feed opens up to reveal Cor in his traveling clothes, sitting near a beach. It's sunrise, and it looks rather lovely....
Except for the fact that Cor himself looks like he's had the snot beaten out of him, bloody bandages and all.]
Just a question - anyone else noticed that all the monsters have grown more aggressive than normal lately? Pretty sure that they're not supposed to be this eager to tear people apart.
If any Natives know if this is a regular occurrence, feel free to let the rest of us know.
[He pauses as he adjusts the bandages around one arm.]
...doesn't feel like it's normal, though...
[The last bit is muttered just as the feed is turned off.]

[ There is... a glint, barely there, of amusement. It will take a while before Regis is anywhere near normal but... he's still there, under all. ]

[ Because he might, and not using them without nudging wouldn't surprise Regis. ]

[Still, it provides hope that even if Regis never fully recovers physically, he can still do so in other, equally important ways.]
And I got one left, but I didn't want to use it unless things got really bad.
[But he is, rather slowly, reaching for it - out of old habit of reassuring his friend and...well, Very Important Person, at least.]

Please, do make sure you can stay safe until I get there. I will bring a few more.
[ And he makes a mental note to install a small cupboard for curatives near the chocobos so that, in case of emergency that cannot be addressed with the Regalia, there will be no need to delay further. ]
Was it a case of creatures attacking you when they usually would not, or numbers overwhelming you?
[ Because, well. He does know Cor's proficiency in combat. ]

[Which is true. Cor's focus is always on the battle if there's a threat within his range. But that question makes him grimace a little, even as he works the cap off of the last potion on his person.]
A bit of both, really. Was trying to hunt down a monstrous fish that's said to only become edible under a master chef. It had 'friends', apparently.

[ The warning is important, and Cor is clearly shaken, but that's all the more reason for Regis to remind him that he is not quite safe yet. ]

[Cor simply nods and keep an eye on the area, even as he sips from that potion. Battered as he may be, he's still on low-key alert, in case some other creature comes along looking for breakfast.]

[ And Regis does show up sooner rather than later, with some extra potions and maybe a little bit paler from the too-fast ride. And yes, he has a second chocobo in tow - even though Larkspur can probably easily take the weight of both of them, Regis is fully aware which option will make Cor less worried, from a security point of view. ]

[ Quick nod, and he hesitates, but in the end decides to come down from the back of the chocobo, slipping his cane from its loop on the saddle and coming over, reaching to place a hand on Cor's shoulder and take an actual, in-person look at him.
... then he smiles, just a little. Soft and warm. ]
I am glad that even surprise fish could not get the best of you.

Feeling that hand on his shoulder calms him, and seeing that warm smile helps soothe his own concerns...for the moment.]
It would take a lot more than that to put me out of commission.
[And then a small, almost-shy smile grows on Cor's face.]

[ Fighting in water, as much as Regis was originally amused by the fact that Cor's adversary was fish, can be tricky in ways that could crop up days later. Anyway. ]
The additional potions are in the saddlebags. [ Safely and properly packed. ] I suppose it would have been convenient if I could simply place them in the Armiger for you to access, but this will need to do.
[ Talking means he can hold off the urge to hug Cor. That can wait until they are back home. ]

[Because he's heard the lecture often enough from everyone else over the years. Thankfully, it's the first time it's cropped up in a long while, but still...]
...yeah, it would be. But best to not dwell on "would be's" right now.
[Even though Regis is completely right, about the Armiger. Still, the option of regaining one's powers thru custom jobs does give Cor some hope in resolving that particular issue at some point...]

[Thank you for picking up my sorry ass is the hidden meaning behind those words. It reflects in how much softer Cor's face is in this moment. They can hug when they're safe at their place. Maybe talk more, too, if necessary.]

For the moment, he shakes his head and waits for Cor to help himself, then nods for him to mount up. In case Cor, for once, is the one needing assistance, not that Clarus hasn't made sure that all the chocobos would be willing to let Regis, at his most exhausted, up on their backs. ]
Let us go. 'twill be far more comfortable at the house, and I think having at least two cats sleeping on you might assist me in keeping you resting for longer than otherwise.
[ That. Is a tease. Because he is worried, and keeping things light is the way to get them safe fastest. ]

As if a pair of cats could keep me down for too long... You just want a chance to make me seem cute.
[Which, he is not. And has argued that he's not for years, both seriously and jokingly. Still, it's good to be joking, even if he winces from one of the cuts flaring up a little as he settles onto the bird.]
...and you want pictures for blackmail, too, I suspect.
[Again, more teasing to hide the pain.]
