Greetings.
While I've been getting wizard training at the wizard school - which, wow, I never expected to say that - I've been thinking about something lately. Really, it's kind of been on my mind since I got here and talked to some people.
I'm curious. How many of your worlds have magic? What's magic like there? Is it the same here in any way?
How are people who use magic treated where you're from?
Only monsters use magic where I'm from, though monsters where I'm from aren't like the monsters here.
Basically this is scientific curiosity. Or magic curiosity, I guess.

[He blinked. He'd only seen it used in the raw a couple times, but it felt like there was something far more important he was forgetting-- in fact, he was almost sure of it. He falters for a good few seconds before he gets his train of thought chugging again.]
...it was like this energy that flowed through everything, and they could stop, move, and 'read' it if they really knew what they were doin'. But it's nothing I ever was able to learn.
[Or at least consciously control.]
Well, a mecha is more to-the-point, I guess.

No! It's... okay, hold on.
[There's a brief delay as Red books it over to the airship's cargo bay, where he actually turns the iMog's camera around to give a good view of his mecha, the Dahak Mk. III. If anything, Chara could probably place it as something closer in size and function to the ride armor from Muguman Z.]
--There. That's what it is. What is anime, anyway...?
no subject
Okay I know what that is.
[It looks sort of like it came out of a Guydan anime than anything, maybe one of the SD series. Either way, that answers the question.]
Anime is a type of cartoon from Japan. It's really popular.

[Japan, eh? Isn't that where Azusa was from? Maybe that shed some light on how how familiar she seemed to be robots...]
But I do know that whatever it was we called 'magic', humans were the ones usin' it before any of us were. So it's probably not the same as whatever it was in your world.

Still, it's nice to learn about other places!

You said you know Papyrus, right? What was his magic like?
no subject
So sorry, I'm not really sure what his magic is like!
no subject
[That explains why he kept getting so confused about this whole... Frisk and Chara thing.
On the other hand, IT RAISED SO MANY EVEN BIGGER QUESTIONS!]
Was he like... this back in your world or did he make sense?
no subject
He makes sense to me!

[Doggone it-- He should have remembered. Somehow, even the topic of Papyrus made Red start losing track of things.]
Well, whaddaya think of the magic you're learnin' here? Even if it ain't my thing, it seems like pretty impressive stuff.

And it helps that some of its familiar. I've always had a way with the earth.

Paladin... that one's a little bit different. I keep feelin' like I'm just not doin' it right. Maybe holdin' back just isn't for me.

[He's right, though. Red knows it.]
Well, at least y'don't have to be a shining knight to play hero, right?
