NPC Announcement || Text + Document

Hello, kupo! For those who don't know me yet, my name is Kupoto. I'm an apprentice postmoogle who's been assigned to help look after you all, kupo!

It was great to see everyone have fun at the Festival. It's been ages since I was able to go myself, kupo. I'm glad I got to speak with some of you while we were visiting, and I've been working on finding some things for you all. I'm sure Empress Ramaa likely mentioned Their names, kupo, but I promised one of you that I would share something my grandfather once gave me when I was a very small mog. While I'm having some difficulty finding the grown up version, I hope this helps...

Be careful exploring out there, okay? It's been growing dangerous for some time, so never go alone, kupo.

[Attached is a PDF of an old children's book titled Goodnight Eidolons by a "Mai Piname". The pages, likely taken as photos on an iMog, show their age of at least eleven years. While most of it is still legible, there are obvious signs that someone a long time ago accidentally spilled ink on some of the pages; rendering them unreadable.]

I would think you'd want to acclimate children to quality entertainment early, rather than feed them the first pile of drivel available.

Also, it would not surprise me given how many similarities already exist, but the draconic silhouette is obviously Bahamut. However... It's missing wings, but I feel that one on the bottom left may belong to an Eidolon named Alexander.

That may be so, but you need to build up their vocabulary first. Having them actually want to read new things helps, too.

Maybe it's another kind of dragon? Or some other reptile.

What's he like? Good or bad?

The Alexander I knew was a protector. But then, the Bahamut I knew was not a world-destroying abomination. These may be entirely different Eidolons, but the similarities are too great to ignore.

The Bahamut in my world wasn't a destroyer, either. But I can see your point regarding the differences.

A protector, though...what kind of protector?

The ritual to summon Alexander was... complex. It required two summoners, a specific prayer, and an extraordinarily specific jewel. Alexander was only to be summoned as a last resort, to be used against a foe that was insurmountable, for there were no Eidolons which could equal him.
Bahamut could lay ruin to an entire city in minutes, if a summoner could sustain him long enough.

Alexander could do it in mere seconds.

apologies for the very late reply; clearing out inbox

And yet, you describe him as a protector.

[Which does carry different inclinations than 'being able to level cities within seconds'.]

This sounds like the right kind of Eidolon to seek out, if this world's version is anything like the one on your world.

The sword that repels an invader can butcher an innocent, can it not?
I can only hope Alexander would be sympathetic to our plight, at least.
