Digging Continues (Open, threadjacking encouraged once again!)
[ VIP week at Sparks Golsaucia's still going on, true, but it involves a lot of loud noise and people and Futaba ain't here for that without the rest of her friends. So instead she's been working on something else. Something even the people who didn't join in can hopefully appreciate. ]
So. Got a few things for you all and a few questions in return, especially for the newbies.
First of all, I've got some notes for you all. Some of you might remember the post I made a couple months back. Been doing research since then, so I figured I'd follow up with my findings. The more this info is widely spread the better. Also if you've got anything to add from searches on your own, feel free to talk about it here or lemme know and I can add it. We may even want to have like... some kinda meeting to discuss this stuff?
I'm not organizing it though.
[ Nope. Nope. Not a chance. Putting together notes and tossing them out to the wind? That she can do. Organizing a bunch of people and talking to them and all that kind of thing? Nope. ]
Unfortunately this place doesn't have the internet, so I can't just make a website for these notes. Pretty much all I can do is make my files available for download as of right now, so I'll have to post an updated version periodically. Sucks but there's nothing I can do yet.
Anyway here's the file: file:vaikunthanotes
[ And next... ]
On that note, one of the big questions last time was about a strange little girl with blond hair who called herself Ashelia. She only turned up right after the new arrivals, and only spoke to a few people before disappearing again. Anybody happen to see her this time around? Looking at newbies especially for this one.
Also a Moogle that shouted some kind of doomsday prophecies about a "she," I guess.
[ She'll ask more questions if anybody actually happens to volunteer information. No point typing a lot up front if it turns out she wasn't even here.
And... as for the last thing. And the thing she's especially glad she's using text for. ]
Also... back on Earth, a lot of countries around the world happen to celebrate Father's Day on the third Sunday of June (sixth month). Which is... this one, I guess?
So. Happy Father's Day.
[ Especially to her own dad, even if... he isn't here... ]

I am not sure how wise it is to make this a public knowledge but, I do have to warn you. He is reeking of darkness for a reason. Stay away from him.

ayyyyyyy]Guessing you're from the same world as he was. If so, yeesh. That's rough. Smelled worse than the guy who tormented my brother.
Oh, I did, and I don't think he's here. Not that I could smell him right now if I tried with what the Dream Width does to foreign powers, but...
People who reek that much usually aren't the kind to hide.
no subject
After you told me that there are different realities, I am not sure if he is the one from mine. But I doubt that in any reality his appearance brought anything good.
If you notice anything weird that could tie up with him, please, notify me. I
[I have to protect Noct from him]
It is the burden from our world that we brought in here.
And he is the type to scheme. He actually might try to hide.

Not sure if it helps, but the only time I've seen it be the case where they aren't is if they were in a situation like I was... where it was a 100% guarantee that anyone who showed up that you knew back home was from another reality. Crystallis wasn't like that unless there was an extreme change in the course of history. I hope for everyone's sake it's the same here.
But, you're right. And you know him better than I do.
[And, suddenly, the feed seems to cut. When, in reality, he switches to voice and sets the feed to private.]
I promise. If I do, you'll be the first to know. If my blade doesn't find its mark first.
[There is so much he can say about that, but unlike how open he is about information about Crystallis, when it came to the Brotherhood, he is even quieter about it. Yet, if his hunch is right... well, he'll wait for a response. There's a reason he switched to voice for this.]
No one can hide from those who lurk in shadow for long.
- private -
I do not know him personally, nor I ever want to. The occasions where he, [Ignis almost hisses] aided us sent chills down my back. And for a good reason too.
[Ignis never trusted him and the fact that he had to accept the help from him makes him feel filthy.
The... 'references' sound vaguely familiar but Ignis doesn't contemplate on it for too long.]
He can. Ardyn is an immortal that survived through centuries, torturing both daemons and people for his experiments. [...Prompto...] The darkness that he brings with him is threatening to devour our Star. That is why we need to go back.
[He's not sure if he should mention Noctis but... he never met his person and while titles don't mean much right here, right now, he shouldn't spread information about Noct.]
- private -
Immortality means little in a place like this. [He knows that from personal experience, but doesn't say it. Just needed to get that out of the way.]
I knew someone who'd sympathize far better than I can. [Even if he remembers why, he was created to embrace the dark. It's been a Challenge not to. Almost as much as it is not to audibly flinch at the word "experiment." He fails not to.] But I understand the need to go back even more.
Sounds an awful look like what he and the other Archfiends did to Crystallis. Or at least, a version of him. [Ignis can't see it, but his eyes narrow.] The four of them almost completely destroyed it, and I don't want to think about what he did to find out what he knew about the Crystals. He's already sounding more and more like someone I'd love to introduce to a dagger in the back.
[The immortality, torture, experimentation... The last two of those three would be grounds for instant hatred and rage. But, he has to think like an Assassin. Not like the vengeance-driven child he once was.]
I recognize your voice. You lived in C-01, right? ...I'm in C-02.
- private -
If he kills Ardyn here, would that mean the end of Prophecy back home?
Of course, he doesn't voice this because he doesn't want to sound like some cold-blooded murderer. Well- not right now. Later, if he has to be, he will be.]
I will gladly join my dagger to yours if he ever shows up.
[And he won't even stab him in the back. He'll look him straight in the face.]
Yes, actually. Apologies if we were loud at times.
- private -
There's an affirmative noise, before he pauses, and a chuckle escapes him.]
You say as though we haven't wished there's a thing called soundproofing because of one of our housemates playing his sitar at 2am. [Seriously, who does that?] But, it is our blades that will join yours.
[Yes, ours.]
- private -
Well, the sitar is better than yelling and swords clashing at 5am. It is music. [Ignis seriously had no problems with it.]
..."Ours"?
[Yes, he saw that.]
- private -
[Takeshi didn't bother counting after trying to muffle the noise with his pillow.
He can't wait to find a place elsewhere. And Ignis is about to, because...]So Prompto and his friend didn't tell you. Good to know they're better at remaining tight-lipped than a certain furry friend of ours. [+5 respect points to the nerds.] For we who watch in the shadows know that nothing is true...
- private -
...this sounds like-]
I remember Noct and him playing a video game from which they quoted that line.
[Wait- how does this connect to stabbing?]
Did he join some kind of cult?
- private -
Not a cult. Actually, pretty sure my mother and senior in the Brotherhood aided in the death of a cult leader back on Crystallis.
Heard the guy mention a video game, though. That would be fun to explain to the captain. If she were here instead of her godsforsaken moogle.
[A sigh.]
Don't have to take my word on it, though. I know it sounds far-fetched.
- private -
And yet, the guy is talking about eliminating an actual cult leader and Ignis can't help but frown. What did Prompto get himself into?]
Yes. Because of there is a game I am rather reluctant to accept that this goes farther than some kind of club gathering. But you also say you dispatched a cult leader.
[So now he has no idea what to think.]
...what is the purpose of this group?
- private -
I'd never even heard of it before Prompto mentioned it.
'To serve the light from the shadow'. In Crystallis that translated into trying to find threats before they became a bigger problem. Like a cult leader who was trying to usher in a god of destruction, or a scientist who'd try and play god.
Here, we're still trying to figure that out. It's mostly intel.
- private -
That sounds as useful as it is dangerous.
Is it hard to get intel this way? How dangerous is it?
[He's just worried that Prompto might end up in some danger.]
- private -
Only as much as everything else in this place is.
Why not come to our next meeting and see for yourself?
And before you ask: no, you don't have to join to get in.
- private -
Are you sure?
I always thought that this sort of thing is mostly a secret. Both the meeting and the joining.
- private -
[...]
[he's never seen these things before what is it even-]
We are in a private call, aren't we?
[Just pointing that out.]
I'm sure.
- private -
We are. But you just met me and invited me to a meeting of the assassins.
[just pointing it out.]
Then I will consider it.
- private -
[He trusts Prompto's tendency to be super nervous around people to know who's a good egg. So, there's an audible shrug.]
Keep an eye out for our note, then.
