01. AIRSHIPS!! [Text]

I didn't know we were gonna get the chance to get our own airships! I know I missed being able to wake up and see nothing but sky and clouds out the window. Made drying the laundry a lot easier, too.

But that kinda got me thinking- you couldn't get very far without an airship back where I came from, but a lot of the people I've talked to have said they've never seen anything like them before! I know a few people here have had SOME sort of flying machine back in their world, though. If yours did too, I gotta know- what were they like?

For that matter, how many other pilots do we HAVE here, anyway?

yes. all aether is aspected to fire, ice, wind, water, earth or lightning, and then astrally or umbrally. places with lots of wind aether tend to be very windy. places with lots of ice aether tend to be very cold and so on.

i don't know about the airships here. i'd have to fly one.

theres an area of eorzea called coerthas. it used to be a nice highland. after the calamity, the area's ambient aether got tilted heavily towards ice and now it's winter all the time there.

so yes???

it doesn't so much control the weather as it makes the weather go batty if it over-saturates.

one of our moons had an ancient dragon god in it.

nobody knew except the fool who called it down.

maybe. i dont know if he really knew. i wasnt there but apparently he was stark raving mad.

the moon fell and the dragon god fell out of it and did a bloody number on eorzea. we still havent completely recovered.

thats the calamity.

yes? i think?

The dreadwyrm bahamut tempered him from afar i think. it made him call the moon down.

i shouldnt talk about it. it could cause problems on my world.

[ There's a bit of a pause as Castor considers her options. There's more indication of her typing and deleting something several times. ]

archon louisoix channeled enough aether to break up bahamuts body but it wasnt enough to completely kill it. bahamut was dormant for five or so years. some friends and i put him down for good before he reformed properly.

principle of it. primals like the dreadwyrm need prayer and aether to sustain their form. less people who think on him the better. an' nobody ought to know the truth of what louisoix did for the same reason.

yes and probably.

most primals temper more followers to make them stronger. its one of the reasons theyre so dangerous.

menphina is the name of the moon goddess. sometimes we call her the lover. in all my wanderings ive found her to have a lot of names.

yes i dont think we would survive a second one right now. an eigth umbral era might be the end of us right now.
