01. AIRSHIPS!! [Text]

I didn't know we were gonna get the chance to get our own airships! I know I missed being able to wake up and see nothing but sky and clouds out the window. Made drying the laundry a lot easier, too.

But that kinda got me thinking- you couldn't get very far without an airship back where I came from, but a lot of the people I've talked to have said they've never seen anything like them before! I know a few people here have had SOME sort of flying machine back in their world, though. If yours did too, I gotta know- what were they like?

For that matter, how many other pilots do we HAVE here, anyway?

well im pretty light so that helps a little i guess
or maybe my wings are really strong

i could probably do it if i practiced right
its easier to just let other people cook though

Red had a point. Especially when you compared the experience of flying in a plane to flying in the Amecopter. "Yeah. It's pretty breathtaking for the first time... but after that it just gets boring, especially if you forgot to pack a book."

Yeah-- its structure and hydraulics are all weak now. Not sure what happened but the fight's been taken right out of it. It runs, but I can't take it up against a monster like this!!

Guess I have to wait for that Magitek armor after all..

Every time someone takes a look at me for the first time they say something like 'You're a dog?!' and I figured I'd just get it over with this time.

I dunno. Ever since I found out about that thing that Culinarians do, I've been thinking twice every time I pass by a restaurant. [...Not that it's stopped him from going inside, of course.]

I should probably brush up on my Magitek Knight skills, too. I shouldn't have let that thing's attention turn to you in the first place.

Indeed. Seems hypocritical to accept moogles as our companions and then find an oddity in someone else being a sentient animal at human stature.

Presently, I'd rather not divulge such information especially over the network even if this is private. There's no certainty that this won't somehow get out.

Connie giggles at that. At least Red wasn't condescending because of her age, although he vastly overestimated her abilities. "No, not really. I'm just kind of, um, an enthusiast. Because that's what you do when you're living near an airfield for a few months and have no friends and not a lot to do. You look at planes."

Hey, Red had seen a teenaged girl slam together her own racing aircraft back where he had come from- not like another young genius was outside his realm of possibility.

"You said there were other kinds? Y'got drawings in that book of the more interesting ones?"

"Hm, not really, but... Oh! You'd probably like some of the older models of planes before they started going into mass production! I don't have a reference on me, but I can probably put together a quick sketch..." As Connie starts drawing, she asks, "So what was your home world like?"

Hey, I saved the world and *I* didn't get any action figures! Maybe I'll see if I can get the Arena Ship staff to at least sell a shirt with my face on it...

No, there's no shooting involved; it's a popular sport back in my world. There's a small, lightweight flying disc and you have to catch it in your teeth. It's intense.

[ He was typing his response to the first part of Red's message, but then his buddy mentioned more about Flying Disc. His buddy who's a dog. Who just admitted to having a sport where they catch small flying discs with their teeth. So Hunk's thumb hit Send mid-message, as a result of his brain kind of shutting down.

There's about a minute of pause, and while Red is wholly unaware, Hunk is sitting on his side of the conversation, alternating between wheezing laughter and excited squealing. ]

The jetpack, communications, and particle shield parts of my armor are all unavailable. My prosthetic arm used to have a lot more strength and could activate as a weapon.

Now it's only as strong as my other arm and the weaponizing doesn't work.

Kinda? Sorta? Maybe.

It's kinda hard to say. Maybe there were more when I was too young to remember but for now, there's definitely only one.

And three military academies that can hover on land and sail through the seas. But yeah... not easy to produce.

[Selphie's pretty sure that if anyone could mass produce airships, it'd be Esthar but they were still a fairly reclusive nation.]

archon louisoix channeled enough aether to break up bahamuts body but it wasnt enough to completely kill it. bahamut was dormant for five or so years. some friends and i put him down for good before he reformed properly.
