The biggest one is stopping the Bahamut cult from massacring the people of Nakagawa. I think I can probably infiltrate the cult; a LOT of them show up after the MogNet post goes out and I'm pretty sure I can lose myself in the crowd of new arrivals, and if called upon, give a fairly good performance as a cultist if need be to better fit in. I've done that sort of thing before, after all.
Stopping the cult I think means getting to the leader. Or leaders, I think there might be more than one. Obviously they try to keep their identities as obfuscated as possible, which is why I'll need to infiltrate them. If I can figure out who they are, I'll report back with their identities. But I want...I want to try talking to them first. I know what they do is horrible, but...they're scared and desperate and hoping for any possible way to save themselves. Most of the cultists I fought the first time trying to escape the city didn't appear to actually want to be hurting other people, but...fear and desperation can make people do awful things if they're pushed far enough.
Which is why I want to talk to the cult leaders personally before I-or we-go in swords drawn. I think I need to be able to offer them hope; hope that this isn't the end, that Bahamut will be stopped and Vaikuntha saved. Maybe if I can address the cult at large during a meeting-maybe even the one where they decide on the massacre-I might be able to stop it from happening.
That said, if the cult leaders themselves are truly set on this goal, I'll do what I have to. But it would still pay to have a contingency plan in place in case I can't convince them to stand down. If we have an evacuation plan ready to go, when the cult attacks we'll be able to get more people out of the city. Or maybe we can try to organize some kind of defense so that when the assault happens they won't find it so easy. Most of the cultists didn't appear to be that well trained, but they had numbers and the element of surprise on their side. The loops take away the latter advantage, and from there, depriving them of the former should be relatively easy to accomplish.
That said, if anyone with an airship could be standing by at the port in case we need to get a lot of people onboard and evacuate the city in a hurry, I'd feel a lot better about this.
Also, this is admittedly not as big a priority to me as stopping the cult but one item of news keeps popping up that I find...curious. A foreign woman in Arito tending flowers near the Summoners Guildhall even as the rest of the city falls into chaos. I don't know why, but something about that...I don't know if it's important or not but I want to investigate. Something about it stands out to me.
So there's where I'm going to be focusing, at least for the time being. Any help people are willing to give me with either of those two events are welcome! The cult alone is going to require help and careful planning.

we should get the swordmaster guild involved.
they can probably help.

How are you holding up? I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to ask this sooner.

[ The text makes it hard to tell if she's lying. ]
we should get a headstart on this cult stuff.

I agree. It takes priority over the flower lady. I'm going to attempt an infiltration after the MogNet post goes out; if we can't stop the cult from forming in the first place we'll need everything I can dig up on the leadership. Can I count on you to accompany me? I should warn you if we're discovered it will probably lead to our deaths and having to try again next loop.
[Corrin has to pause for a minute to re-read what she just wrote and sigh; talking about dying as though it was a minor inconvenience; this is her life now.]
Of all the sentences I never thought I'd seriously write...this is taking some adjustment.

the other option
is that i get evacuation organized
and ask the guild for help.
that way even if you cant bring it down from inside we have help slowing down its advance?
thats a morbid thought but...needs must, i suppose.

However, if I think in a subsequent loop I might be able to actually address the cult at large-they must have a meeting spot set up somewhere-I would like to try and bring you along as protection. I think most of them would think twice trying to attack us both if you were there.
Provided we can still get the Swordmasters around and an evacuation set up in case, of course. But if we can work out how to do that, streamlining the process for future loops should be relatively simple, yes?
Yeah. If death has no meaning right now then there's absolutely no reason to give up.
no subject
stopping this means we'll need information, and when we're ready to act i'll stand with you.
if you can find the leaders maybe we can stop the problem before it even starts. that will save us both a lot of time.
its a strange notion, not having death be a lasting concequence.

Um, if you ever want-or need-to take a break from...all this, I'd be happy to have you over if you'd like. Just to chat or relax over a cup of tea. I know I'll probably need the odd break or two over the coming loops.

i had almost forgotten you live there, too. shame on me for being a poor neighbour, i suppose.

I'm sure Nozomi would enjoy getting to know you better as well.

then again, we spend so many of the last moons running helter-skelter after eidolons.
we hardly had a fortnight of downtime, it seems like.

The casualties were fairly low last run, but I think we can do better. I think we can still save everyone in the city. Maybe that's something we can brainstorm over tea.
Or we could just leave the work stuff alone and get to know each other better too, heehee.

im tired of having to yell at everyone in the swordmasters guild anyways.
Re: [Text]
If I wasn't so obvious as myself, I'd offer to come with you. It's a distant possibility but... there are no accidents, we like to say. And that speak to coincidences as well.
But, see if you can find someone else who arrived with the first group of us from the Dream Width. Or a Curti Center volunteer.

You're skilled with illusions though, aren't you? That could come in handy. I'll keep you in mind in case a little obfuscation is called for, S'reee.

If you're trying to get the Swordmasters to help - Hi, Castor - I can probably come talk to them. They should help. I don't know why they didn't.
And if there's fighting, I can be good for that too.
no subject
you've infiltrated themmmm before, try to feed mmmme as mmmmuch intel as you can
i'll do some investigating on mmmmy owwwwn too, mmmmaybe i can get richrd to help
no subject
Also I cannot recommend beheading as a way to die.Anything I find out I'll feed to you. It might take me a couple loops to pull together all the possible intel I can get, but I'll get it done.
Castor, I want to loop you in on this too. I'll stay in the cult until the attack begins; once it starts I'll turn on them from the inside. I might be able to cause enough confusion and panic within their ranks to help further stem the tide though I'm probably going to need rescuing eventually when I start to get overwhelmed. If I find out anything specific about how they plan to carry out the attack like troop movements or high priority targets I'll send that information to you so you and the Swordmasters can better coordinate.
We've got this. We can stop the cult.
