On a today just like this one, I had to wait until a man died in order to rifle through his pockets and get his ID because he couldn't work up the words to answer me why exactly he was feeling so horrible.

So I had to go on a magical detective goose chase.

The simple solution doesn't really work on this case, I'm gathering.
