[Takeshi has been... very careful. Since the last time he replied to something on the linkshell. However, he can't help but have a feeling of dread as August rolled in. Maybe he's just paranoid. But in the middle of the night, there is a text appearing on the list from him.]

He does. After everything he's been through and... everything that will come his way, he truly does. [And it makes Ignis frustrated, angry and admire Noctis even more.]

Ugh, another of the real things memories. He should have guessed. He sighs, eyes refocusing on the pages before him.]

I know the feeling. [He replies softly, bereft of the usual sardonic and bitter tone. His mind goes to the brief glimpses of King Mickey, the fragments he can still barely remember from the real thing's memory. Even after all these years, he still has to sort out the ones that were first implanted... and the ones that were rewritten entirely.]

I'd give anything, to be by the side those who accepted me as my own person. [Any of those who managed to worm their way into his heart, really. And yet he... he can't.] But, they aren't here. In a way, I'm jealous.

[He picks at the first macaroon, and incidentally finds a new favorite treat. Oh dear.]

Unfortunately there have been no concrete answers or even theories, as I can't think of any change, environmentally or otherwise, that could have occurred to merit it. All we could do is have the guilds prepare more appropriately and collect information.

As for records, there may well be. I haven't sought them out myself, but even if there is permission would have to be asked of the Director, Jesse and perhaps Claire after we've obtained consent from the outworlder and/or their descendants, if they are even still alive or exist. We take matters of classified, sensitive and personal information very seriously.

Perhaps being led by a thought that they don't have to experience this place could be a small comfort? [Vaikuntha is not terrible to live in but... it's not home. Ignis can relate to that.]

Thankfully, I spared you from the hunt for a tailor. Premade suits are decent, but it'll be much quicker to have it tailored to your size. Plus, the guy works incredibly fast so it'll be done in a day or so. I figured you'd like to get back on the road as soon as possible after all.

[He may have already arranged an appointment already just to be safe and to make sure he got paid before Takeshi could even bring up the issue of payment.]

[Takeshi nods faintly. He runs a finger around the rim of the cup absentmindedly a few times before he wraps the same hand around it.]

They never do. [Believe him; he's tried to make them do so. Several times. Pushed it so far down that they wound up becoming a part of his Shadow. He frowns thoughtfully, debating on whether or not it would be a good thing to say anything on that. Because, unfortunately... it is no comfort. Not to him.

In the end, he decides to let the dead rest in peace.]

[He had been taking more shifts with his airship piloting job, but thankfully he finds the work to be rather satisfying.]

[The look Takeshi gives him is one of slight horror before he just... relents. Realizing that someone isn't going to let that go.]

Fiiine.... [S i g h.] But I'm buying lunch after.

[And probably dinner, too.]

Sounds like a deal to me. It's really the least I can do for you since your mom got a headstart on family bonding time with you over me.

Well, guess it's your turn now. [He stretches a little, before getting back to work on his notes.] Besides, it's still better than when she decided my bedroom window was a better option to knock on than the front door. To deliver a birthday cake.

What can we say? It's part of our parental obligation to embarrass or go out of our way to all out for our kids now and then. The twins won't be i immune to this either when they get older. Its stuff like that makes the memory stick more to you in our opinion.

[Takeshi stops, blinking as he looks up at his dad again. It's a very good thing he has no idea what a normal family looks like. Because honestly? This is his normal.

That probably was just a one-time thing since that was the first birthday of yours she got to celebrate. So I think you'll be safe from that. For now at least.

Nope. [Not anymore.] I shared a dorm for a year with three other guys. You get used to a lack of privacy.

Ah, that makes sense. I never did try rooming with people before landing here. There were moments for me where privacy didn't exist. I kept getting put under house arrest because I'd find ways of sneaking out of the manor undetected. I couldn't help it since I refused to follow in your grandpa's footsteps for the longest time. Hell, I even swore I'd never get married or have kids but uh, you know how that went.
