[Video #1] Of coffee Shops

[The feed opens on... nothing. A blank, white wall. There is a lot of shuffling in the background, people speaking and footsteps going back and forth. Finally the feed moves away from the wall and shows blaring, white light of the outside, blinding the screen for a moment until it finally focuses on the entrance door.

Tall, young man stands at the door, in striped white and blue shirt, talking to someone, and holding a medium-sized box. The feed then slowly moves away from him to give a shot of the inside of the room. There is still a bit of a mess, chairs, and boxes around, but the small coffee shop is finally taking its shape. There are no customers still, of course, but it looks as the place will soon be open.

The feed starts moving now, moving from place to place, zooming in on the random potted plants, the cookie and cake displays (still empty, unfortunately), then a bigger pastry display, on the box with barista uniforms in the corner, then on cute wooden jars that will hold coffee in the future.]

Ebony! What are you doing?

[There is a loud squeak, the feed shakes and then focuses on Ignis walking up to the Moogle that was recording everything around the shop.]

Making memories, kupo! You're opening soon, right?! Right!!

We have a lot of work to do, [Ignis sighs and sets the box he was holding on the bar and then reaches for the slate. There seems to be a tug-o-war between the two but, of course, Ignis wins in the end and the feed just shows a vase of flowers.]

Please focus on cleaning up.

[It seems that Ignis and Ebony were like Selphie and Jaelyn in the aspect that the pairs were complete opposites. Regardless, Selphie's watching this accidental video feed and eventually can't help but burst out laughing at the interaction between Moogle and Human.]

[Memories of Cuppa Kupo from Crystallis come to mind as Selphie chuckles again.]

[So very slow text. Ravus is not used to typing, especially not with this new magitek arm.]

[Since it is Ignis, Ravus is willing to provide any assistance he requires. ~~Also he will eat so many berries.~~]

[Okay, this is embarrassing. Why is Ebony like this!? Ignis scratches back of his head and then takes a look at the slate.]

I am not forbidding him from having fun but I wish he wouldn't have it where I'm trying to work.

[Pause.]

Also, he volunteered to help.

[It's okay, take your time Ravus. Texting won't go anywhere. ~~Though video feed would've been easier?~~]

I would mind having another pair of hands on deck. But only if you are free, of course.

[They've all been busy these days. ~~Just leave some for the cakes he needs to make for the opening day.~~]

[ Selphie just beams at Ignis while nodding along. Moogles usually do things for a reason so she won’t rib him too much about it. Besides, some Moogles are completely different personality wise from their partners that it makes for an interesting dynamic. ]

Well, I kinda figured that he would’ve but don’t be too hard on him, okay?

[ Selphie changes tone fairly quickly though. She’s got a couple questions for Ignis. ]

Soooooo... what’s this I hear about you needing a hand with your shop and did you manage to find your friend?

[ Yes, she’s asking that several months later. Priorities, she has them. They’re just... very abstract upon occasion. ]

[Ignis offers a smile of reassurance.]

I won't. He will get his -payment- he requested for the help he offered. Which is an entire bowl of wild berries covered in kupo-nut butter. [And he gives his best not to roll his eyes at that request.]

Yes, we are currently in major preparations for opening day, which is on 5th. And yes, I did, thank you for asking. [That's okay. Vaikuntha would know if Ignis didn't find Noct.]

[He’s committed to texting now. Just give him a few minutes.]

I have no other commitments at the moment, so I will do what I can until you no longer need me.

Then your help is most appreciated.

Keeping an eye on Ebony to make sure he doesn't go through all the berries for the cake and cleaning up is still a feat I am yet to achieve.

I hope to see you on opening day as well.

.[Kupo... nut... butter...? There's a profound silence as Selphie mulls over that concept before finally asking:]

Is that like peanut butter or that chocolate hazelnut spread? Those ingredients sound like they belong in a cheesecake than separately but I could be wrong! I'm not exactly kupo for kupo nuts.

[Ignis just might be able to hear the smile in Selphie's voice.]

Good! I'm glad. You were really worried about him.

Now! I might be able to lend a hand.

[Ignis are you ready for sunshine, lollipops and rainbows?]

[The screen opens to a cluttered bookshelf, a Moogle floating in front of it.]

Congratulations Iggy, kupo! We want to help you, kupo, however you need so let us know what you need - kupo!

[Noodle waves wildly, smiling and flitting about in the frame. She is so excited that her companion's friend is opening a business! There's a little shuffling as the iMog is handed off and the man appearing on the screen first looks past it a bit as he speaks.] Make sure you hold it steady, okay?

[With a grin, Gladio looks directly into the camera.] Hey Iggy. Figured I'd offer my help, but Noodle insisted she join in too. Need any help moving tables or boxes and whatnot?

[ ....h u h. ]

I don't think it is either of those. My friend had tried it [under the pressure from the Moogle,] and it is safe to say that the taste is not for human consumption.

The berries, indeed, belong to a cake I will be making for the opening day.

[Well- one of his friends used to be like that. He kind of really misses it.]

If you could, then I will be most appreciative. The shop is small but there is a lot of work to do.

[You need help organizing that? ~~Ignore that, it's the perfectionist in Ignis speaking~~.]

Ah, thank you Noodle. Most of the things I will need have arrived already.

[Very cheerful Moogle. Hopefully not as clumsy as Ebony can be from time to time. Ignis gives Gladio a smile and a small, two-fingered wave-]

Well, I could use some help setting up the tables, booths and high shelves indeed. If you are free, both you and Noodle are welcome to come.

Yes. It will sell, next to coffee, some pastries and cakes as well.

I know how to prepare curry, in fact, a few types

But I am not sure if customers would want to buy that in a coffee shop

I'm so sorry about that, he's very outspoken. It looks really lovely. I'd love to stop by when it's open. [ And not because she's a pretentious hipster, but because she misses the diner back home and thinks this may be a perfect replacement. ]

[ Have the sudden sound of a very, very excited and overdramatic gasp, Iggy. ]

Wow! This is so awesome! Hmmm... [ Hunk might be thinking about his gil reserves, and whether or not he should spend them all. Cooking's great, and sometimes it's better just to be lazy. ]

What's the most exciting thing on the menu?

[It's fine- Ignis knows a thing or two about overly eager Moogles. Also smartass Moogles. Actually, the house he's in has all types of Moogles now that he thinks about it.]

It is alright. Ebony shouldn't have started the feed in the first place.

The shop opens on 5th of July. If you are free then, you are more than welcome to visit. [There's even a ton of discount on coffee for being the opening day!]

[For a moment Ignis was almost sure it was Ebony gasping for seeing another stray spider somewhere. Oh, right, the feed is still running.]

Ah, I am not done polishing things up just yet. Hopefully, it will turn out just right.

The most exciting thing on the menu... [Ignis now chuckles-] Well, I suppose you will have to drop by on the opening day to see. I don't want to ruin the surprise for the others.

[There are a LOT of people that love berries and desserts with berries in his household. Hopefully, there won't be a showdown for the last slice of blueberry cake between Gladio and Ravus...]

So maybe my Moogle might like it. Hmmmm...

[She'll check with Jaelyn first though before experimenting.

She does smile quite happily when Ignis accepts her help though.]

You could ask your Moogle, but I haven't met one that didn't like it.

[It is a bit of a reluctant acceptance though, seeing that he would be bothering her to travel to his shop.]

I understand. Moving is difficult- seeing that we moved from Curti Center assigned residence last month as well. If you do not make it for the opening day, you can come any other day. The shop is not going to close all of a sudden.

[Hey, he's not always in a foul mood. And he can crack ~~puns~~ jokes from time to time. It's just- that time at the ship, he was brought in from a very strenuous place after learning very disturbing facts.]

The coffee shop is not that hard to find since the place isn't too big. But if you need any help, I could navigate you to it.

[That's not something Ignis wants Gladio to do- drop everything just to help him out. Even though he indeed does know that Gladio would do it.]

Although, I had an idea, if Ravus and you are willing, to plant some nice potted plants. And some flowers outside that would grow against the walls. Something like this?

[Selphie knows that not everyone is in a foul mood all the time, she's just relieved to hear Ignis happy given their first encounter when he was tad on the left of beside himself with worry]

I can't speak for Ravus, but I'm more than willing to get that started for you. Any preferences on the flowers themselves? Or are you gonna leave that up to us?

[He's not sure how working alongside Ravus and Ignis will go, but he can figure that out as it happens. He knows both of them like Ignis in some capacity and the cafe had already been designated a neutral zone, so there would definitely be no fighting no matter what.]

You'd be surprised! Get the right mix of spices and they can go together pretty well.

[ Futaba is a girl that knows what she wants. Although she's not gonna gun too hard for this. She has a sort-of-sibling to harass for food anyways. ]

So where is this anyway?

[ That doesn't look like any of the Curti Center environs outside what windows she can see. ]

[Sorry. His actual job tends to do that to him...]

She does, but not before turning the iMog back on herself with a cheerful wave. They'll see Ignis soon!]

[Wait, does this mean Ravus can blame blueberry theft on Ebony? ~~This is a game changer.~~]

Those are both tasks I can handle. You focus on those things only you can do.

These moogles can be unruly at the worst of times.

[ She gives a small smile. ]

Unruly and overly excitable. I still cannot forget the 'utensils incident'.

[Ignis shakes his head with an amused smile.]

Yeah, how did that go? [ He sounds super curious. ] You guys had a big group. Was it easy to move all your stuff out there? Is there a lot of paperwork?

[ You can't hear the eyebrow raise, but it's there. ] Did it cost a lot?

It wasn't as smooth, despite all the planning, but we didn't run into any trouble. And yes, if packed properly, stuff is easy to move there with a ship.

As for the amount, [Ignis chuckles] we had to buy two houses. They are connected by the chocobo pasture. So, yes. It was a bit on the pricier side.

But, as you said, our group is big, so we handled it.

Two houses? [ A gasp! ] Lucky you could get them both next to the same pasture.

[ And then there's a little "hm." ] What's it like being around so many chocobos? They seem pretty great, but we didn't have them in my world. Do they, like, wark at the moon?

We did a really intense search to find houses close together. The houses are connected by the pasture and the gardens, so it is rather convenient.

[Ignis chuckles a bit] It has actually been rather interesting. There is a lot of work for those raising them. But no, they don't wark at the moon. They sleep very peacefully.

So if they sleep quietly and don't wark at the moon, what do they do? [ There's gotta be something cute. Gotta be. ]

And see, I'm just worried about Shiro's Lion. Did you ever see that thing? [ A beat. ] It's huge. Moving it's gonna be such a pain.

They can do a lot of things. You can ride them. Green chocobos are exceptionally skilled at finding stuff, especially plants and fruit. Black chocobos are temperamental and protective of their owners and they don't shy down from a fight.

And chocochiks are very cute. [Here, have an image or two.]

I have seen it. Yun'Aisha has big fields where you could move it to without bothering the residents.
